In 2016 I visited India in December. I met up with my mother, sister and her fiance at the time now husband. He is originally from India and his parents live in Mubia also formerly called Bombay.
Mumbia is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. It has about 12 million people packed into the space of Manhattan. It is formed over the series of islands in a bay.
As a former British colony strong hold the old downtown area resembles British Victorian architecture and would not be hard to forget where you were if you were only looking at the buildings. Of course the culture of India breeds its own life into the city and it is a whole other animal than London.
The Victoria Termunus train station is a very similar replica to that in London, and you can see the design style in a lot of the buildings around.
This trip I was experimenting with a new lens extension I got. This was a wide angle lens that threaded onto the Canon kit lens which was 18-55mm, this widened the angle of the lens quite a bit. I was hoping to use it for some hotel interior photography. But as you can see from the pics finding the focus was difficult and the images are not as crisp as they could be. Also I think that my kit lens was getting a little old and cloudy by this time.
Some more European styled buildingings.
The Mumbai Gate is also a popular landmark. You can see here that the lens goes almost fish eye when at its widest zoom.
A view at sunset of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, another famous landmark right next to the gate.
Thanks for exploring another place with me in this wonderful world.
