I think that the life of a traveler would be very beautiful if one had a fairly comfortable budget that would allow us to stay several days in each place. Perhaps in this way each trip would be enjoyed differently, but I'm not complaining at all because with the savings that my friend and I make, in one way or another, we manage to visit the places we set out to visit. When we impulsively bought some cheap plane tickets to Chubut we set out a quite detailed itinerary, and after visiting Las Grutas beach in Rio Negro, our second stop was in the small town of Puerto Piramides, again in the province of Chubut ❣️.
Pienso que sería muy hermosa la vida del viajero si uno contara con un presupuesto bastante holgado que le permitiera quedarse varios días en cada lugar. Quizás de esta forma cada viaje se disfrutaría de forma diferente, pero para nada me estoy quejando porque con los ahorros que hacemos mi amiga y yo de una forma u otro logramos conocer los lugares que nos proponemos. Cuando impulsivamente nos compramos unos pasajes de avión baratos a Chubut planteamos un itinerario bastante detallado, y luego de visitar la playa de Las Grutas en Río Negro, nuestra segunda parada era en el pequeño pueblo de Puerto Pirámides, de nuevo en la provincia de Chubut ❣️.
Returning from Las Grutas beach included a fairly long trip with a stopover in the city of Puerto Madryn. We had found out all the necessary information to get there and this trip included a long distance bus ticket and then a small bus. The whole trip would take us about 6 hours or more, but we had been told that this place was so beautiful that we were determined to go there ❣️.
Regresar desde la playa de Las Grutas incluía un viaje bastante largo y con una escala en la ciudad de Puerto Madryn. Habíamos averiguado toda la información necesaria para llegar hasta allí y este recorrido incluía un pasaje en micro de larga distancia y luego un pequeño bus de línea. Todo ese recorrido nos tomaría unas 6 horas o más, pero nos habían dicho que este lugar era tan lindo que estábamos decididas a ir ❣️.

One of the "bad" things is that in Puerto Madryn we had to wait 2 hours for the local bus to leave, but this was stipulated in the plans so it was no surprise. We were also lucky that the long distance bus had a reclining seat, so we slept all night, which was key to not being so tired when we arrived at our destination ❤️.
Una de las cosas "malas" es que en Puerto Madryn tuvimos que esperar 2 horas hasta que salga el bus local, pero esto estaba estipulado en los planes así que no fue sorpresa. También tuvimos la suerte de que el micro de larga distancia era con asiento reclinable, así que vinimos toda la noche durmiendo, algo clave para no llegar tan cansadas a nuestro destino ❤️.
Puerto Pirámides is a small town located in the Valdés Peninsula, considered a protected natural area because it preserves different natural species. To enter this place we were charged 800 ARS (4 USD) as a "national park" fee, something we have already seen in other places in Argentina. These funds are destined to the maintenance of the places and roads in the areas prepared for tourism ⭐️.
Puerto Pirámides es un pequeño pueblo que queda en la llamada Península Valdés, considerada área natural protegida ya que conserva en ella distintas especies naturales. Para ingresar a este lugar nos cobraron 800 ARS (4 USD) en concepto de "parque nacional", algo que ya hemos visto en otros lugares de Argentina. Estos fondos se destinan al mantenimiento de los lugares y los caminos en las zonas preparadas para el turismo ⭐️.
This village is the only one inhabited within the peninsula, therefore the only one available for lodging. Its population is very small: it has only 500 inhabitants and is ready to receive travelers. It has several hotel services, restaurants and stores, although as it was low season when we went, there were not so many people 😅.
Este pueblo es el único habitado dentro de la península, por lo tanto el único disponible para alojarse. Su población es muy reducida: cuenta con apenas 500 habitantes y está preparado para recibir a los viajeros. Cuenta con varios servicios de hotelería, restaurantes y comercios, aunque como era temporada baja cuando fuimos, no había tanta gente 😅.
The high season in this area is from June to November, when diving and whale watching is possible. In this period of time, whales come to reproduce in the Golfo Nuevo, so it is very common to see these marine giants very close to the coasts. Of course, excursions are offered to go out to sea and see them closer, but they can also be observed from the beach. This activity can be done here in Puerto Pirámides or also from the city of Puerto Madryn, which is more touristy and famous for this very reason ❣️.
La temporada alta en toda esta zona comprende los meses de junio a noviembre, que es cuando puede realizarse buceo y avistaje de ballenas. En este periodo de tiempo, vienen las ballenas a reproducirse en el Golfo Nuevo, por lo cual es muy común divisar a estos gigantes marinos muy cerca de las costas. Por supuesto se ofrecen excursiones para embarcarse mar adentro y verlas más de cerca, pero también pueden observarse bien desde la playa. Esta actividad puede realizarse aquí en Puerto Pirámides o también desde la ciudad de Puerto Madryn, la cuál es más turista y famosa justamente por esto ❣️.
Of course it was low season and there were no whales, but the scenery was enjoyable anyway. After leaving our stuff at the hostel that my friend and I paid for, we went to spend the rest of the afternoon on the coast, watching the sea and drinking mates (as usual). Although it was autumn, the good weather was still with us and it was a bit warm ❣️.
Por supuesto era temporada baja y no había ninguna ballena, pero el paisaje se dejaba disfrutar de todos modos. Luego de dejar nuestras cosas en el hostel que mi amiga y yo pagamos, fuimos a pasar lo que quedaba de la tarde en la costa, mirando el mar y tomando mates (como siempre). A pesar de que era otoño, el buen clima seguía acompañandonos y hacía algo de calor ❣️.
As we sat there looking at the beautiful scenery I couldn't help but think "this is what I work for" 😂. It was a great decision to come to this small town and its beautiful beach. The water was freezing cold, but guess what, we took a dip anyway. Of course I wasn't going to travel more than 1500 km not to go in the water in Puerto Piramides, so that's what I did 😅.
Mientras estábamos sentadas ahí mirando ese paisaje tan hermoso yo no podía dejar de pensar "para esto trabajo" 😂. Fue una gran decisión venir a conocer este pequeño pueblo y su playa tan hermosa. El agua estaba helada, pero ¿adivinen qué? igual nos dimos un chapuzón. Por supuesto yo no iba a hacer más de 1500 km de viaje para no meterme al agua en Puerto Pirámides, así que eso hice ❣️.

That day we stayed all day on the coast near the village, I don't think we had the energy to do much more that afternoon. This place looked so quiet that we were able to stay until it got dark without being afraid of anything. Then it was time to go to rest because the next day we had a full day in that area, but at least we had accomplished the first part, which was to get there successfully ❤️.
Ese día nos quedamos todo el día en la costa cerca del pueblo, creo que la energía no nos daba para hacer mucho más en esa tarde. Este lugar se veía tan tranquilo que pudimos quedarnos hasta que se hizo de noche sin tener miedo de nada. Luego fue tiempo de ir a descansar porque al otro día nos esperaba un día completo en esa área, pero al menos ya habíamos cumplido con la primer parte que fue llegar exitosamente hasta allí ❤️.
