Hello fellow travelers! I hope you are very well, happy Tuesday everyone ❤️. Today I'm very excited because I'm finally going to start sharing postcards from my last trip last month 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. Together with my friend, my two aunts and my cousin we made a 5-day trip to the south of the province of Buenos Aires where we had several interesting stops. Weekly I will share with you the destinations we visit, I hope you like them ❤️.
Today I want to tell you about the first stop we made: the San Miguel del Monte lagoon. Ok, although it may not seem like it, this on my cover is a loophole, please believe me 😅.
¡Hola compañeros de viaje! Espero que se encuentren muy bien, feliz martes para todos ❤️. Hoy estoy muy emocionada porque al fin voy a empezar a compartir postales de mi último viaje realizado el mes pasado 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. Junto a mi amiga, mis dos tías y mi primo hicimos un viaje de 5 días al sur de la provincia de Buenos Aires donde tuvimos varias paradas interesantes. Semanalmente iré compartiendo con ustedes los destinos que visitamos, espero que les gusten ❤️.
Hoy quiero hablarles de la primera parada que hicimos: la laguna de San Miguel del Monte. Ok, aunque no parezca, esto en mi portada es una laguna, creánme por favor 😅.
We started this journey on August 14 of this year, exactly one month ago. That week had a few days of exceptionally dense fog: in sections it was almost impossible to drive and everywhere they warned that great care should be taken especially on the roads. Nice moment to start a distant journey, but anyway we went, no simple fog was going to stop us 😅.
Este viaje lo iniciamos el 14 de agosto de este año, exactamente hace un mes. Esa semana tuvo unos días de niebla excepcionalmente densa: por tramos era casi imposible manejar y en todos lados advertían que se debía tener mucho cuidado especialmente en las rutas. Lindo momento para emprender un viaje lejano, pero de todos modos fuimos, ninguna simple niebla iba a detenernos 😅.
Ok, at the time we were not as brave as now that I relate it. We left at 7AM and it was almost 11AM and the fog still lasted. It seemed like he was never going to leave, even though we believed that by noon the road would be clear. After all those hours of travel at minimum speed, we decided to make the first stop to stretch our legs a bit and rest our eyes.
Ok, en el momento no estuvimos tan valientes como ahora que lo relato. Salimos a las 7 AM y eran casi las 11 AM y la niebla aún duraba. Parecía que nunca se iba a ir, a pesar de que creíamos que al mediodía el camino iba a estar despejado. Después de todas esas horas de viaje a mínima velocidad, decidimos hacer la primer parada para estirar un poco las piernas y descansar la vista.
It was funny because my cousin who was driving said "ok, we got to the Monte lagoon". What? I thought. At first I thought it was a joke since you couldn't see anything, but when we checked the map we were really facing a large lagoon 😅.
Fue gracioso porque mi primo que iba conduciendo dijo "ok, llegamos a la laguna de Monte". "¿Qué?", pensé yo. Al principio creía que era un chiste ya que no se veía nada, pero al chequear el mapa realmente estábamos frente a una gran laguna 😅.
As scary as the photo looks, it was in reality. Literally nothing could be seen, everything looked like a great gray wall and a precipice behind the balcony. You had to get too close if you wanted to see the water, it was all very strange but at the same time it was a good experience to have that landscape 😂.
Así de aterradora como se ve la foto, era en la realidad. Literlamente no se veía nada, todo parecía una gran pared gris y un precipicio por detrás del balcón. Debías acercarte demasiado si querías ver el agua, era todo muy extraño pero a la vez fue una buena experiencia tener ese paisaje 😂.
If you made an effort you could see the ducks in the water. It was very crazy since it seemed like they were floating on nothing. All this reminded me of my own dreams, since landscapes are always like that while I sleep, in a lot of fog and with blurred images 😂.
Si hacías un esfuerzo podías ver a los patos en el agua. Era muy loco ya que parecía que flotaban sobre la nada. Todo esto me recordaba a mis propios sueños, ya que siempre los paisajes mientras duermo son así, entre mucha niebla y con imágenes borrosas 😂.
Even the photos we took were hilarious, as it looked like we were posing in front of a big wall with nothing. I think everyone recognizes that we were in the lagoon just because of the characteristic balconies 😅.
Incluso las fotos que nos tomamos resultaron graciosas, ya que parecía que posabamos frente a una gran pared sin nada. Creo que todos reconocen que estabamos en la laguna solo por los balcones característicos 😅.

My aunt believed that when we got to this place and being the first stop we made we would be able to have something for breakfast watching the water. Well, surprise, it wasn't. Everything was closed on the side that we went and we only had to settle for drinking almost cold "mates" and going to the bathroom in terrible conditions 😂.
Mi tía creía que al llegar a este lugar y al ser la primera parada que hacíamos íbamos a poder desayunar algo viendo el agua. Bueno, sorpresa, no fue así. Estaba todo cerrado por el costado que fuimos y solo nos tuvimos que conformar con tomar mates casi fríos e ir al baño en pésimas condiciones 😂.

We also have another proof that we were there: the photo on the sign with Monte's lettering. I would like to return to this place to take a better photo, but for the moment I am satisfied with this one. At least the letters were visible 😂.
También tenemos otra prueba de que estuvimos allí: la foto en el cartel con las letras de Monte. Me gustaría volver a este lugar para sacarme una foto mejor, pero por el momento me conformo con esta. Al menos las letras sí se veían 😂.

I think this place must be really beautiful when it is clear. Judging by the lifeguard signs we saw, there are people who go swimming, which I find incredible since the water level seemed quite high. I hope that one day I can come back and stay there for a few days to enjoy the scenery and that the fog is not a problem, please 😂!
Pienso que este lugar debe ser realmente hermoso cuando está despejado. A juzgar por los carteles de guardavidas que vimos, hay gente que se mete a nadar, lo que me parece increíble ya que el nivel del agua parecía bastante alto. Espero que algún día pueda volver y quedarme algunos días allí a disfrutar el paisaje ¡y que la niebla no sea un problema, por favor 😂!
