Hidden gems in Istria, Croatia

We have already written about the Istrian peninsula, a beautiful part of Croatia. It's one of our favorite places for exploring and enjoying nature.

In the summer of 2020, we visited a place in the heart of Istria called Zarečki krov. It's a spacious cave that looks like a roof above which the river Pazinčica in its course creates a ten-meter-high waterfall and a lake almost ten meters deep.

img_4501_2.jpg Some guys were jumping off this "roof" which is quite high but doesn't look like that in the pictures.

We found a nice place with shade and we just lay down, talked, bathed, and enjoyed ourselves the whole day. In the end, we decided to spend the night here in a tent.

Near this place, there is another hidden gem worth visiting and it's called Gologorički dol.

There is also a nice waterfall, but what cheered us up the most were the animals. There were goats and donkeys so we spent some quality time with them.
