Korčula is a beautiful island in the southern part of Croatia with crystal clear water, nice beaches, cute little towns and villages, great cuisine and lovely people.
We decided to explore Korčula this year in June which was the best idea since there were no crowds and the weather was perfect.
Our plan was to walk the whole island from the west to the east and to sleep every day in nature. We walked half of the island and couldn't continue walking because Denis had a problem with his knees. So then we decided to take a bus to the city Korčula where we stayed for few days.
Our walk first few days was so peaceful and beautiful, but it was also really hard walking with heavy bags. There were lots of ups and downs along the way. We were walking inland and when we wanted to go to the sea coast we had to cross high hills.
We managed to walk around 25 km to some little town on the sea coast. We decided to take a bus to the city Korčula, but we had to walk to the city called Smokvica where the bus departs. We were so tired and every muscle on our body hurt, but we couldn't do anything except walk to this city. We started walking uphill and Denis just put his thumb to the first car that was going in our direction and it stopped. The cool guy saved us and drove us to Smokvica. 😄
The old city of Korčula is one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. We wandered the small streets while taking pictures and waiting for the sunset.

We spent around 5 days on the island and then headed to Dubrovnik, the most beautiful city we have been to. We'll write and show you the photos of Dubrovnik in the next post! 😊
