It is a 3 days moon holiday! And today is the beginning of my 3 days hiking. trip in Nantou, Taiwan. I and my friends will go for a hiking trin at Hehuanshan North and South peak.
From Taipei, I head to Taichung City to meet my friends that I am going to trip with. They came from the south while I came from the north.
There are many types of trains in Taiwan that could take you around this island. Ranging from the tradional slow train, to the mid level newer versions, then the fast traditional, fast train, and the Taiwan High Speed Rail.
I ride this orange train which is a fast traditional train. It goes around the island and it will take me to my destination for two and a half hours. I ride the train without a seat reservation and since I am comming from the first station in the north, I got a seat!
Little did I know, somebody whos coming from the next few stations reserved the seat in the seat! So, hear I was! I've got a VIP seat beside the door with a great window view! Dirty but comfy 🤣
Okay, so I finally arrived Taichug city with this crowd.
And here I am, so hungry. So I head straight to where my friends are. We've met in the ASEAN square.
We decided to eat Indonesian food! It was so good!
After lunch, we get going and stopped by the Taiwan beer factory. Here I am trying to open a box of Taiwan beer.
And finally! we arrived to our destination for today where we are going to spend our night before hiking the Hehuanshan North and West peak. This place is a glamping style hotel where you will sleep in a worm looking tents. It looks cozy isnt it? but belive me or not, this is the cheapest place that I found in this area!
They provide all the basics that we need. Incuding mattresses, breakfast, a clean toilet and separate bathroom with hot shower! We can even have a bbq here, that is what we will do on the next day.
But now, we are just gonna chill for a night and have a good rest before we go for a much more tiring adventure.
