I've been to Ennis several times. It is a small Irish town located in the South West of Ireland, in County Clare. It is a great base for the most famous Irish tourist attractions - the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, not far from here to Galway or the town of Limerick.
W Ennis byłam kilka razy. To małe irlandzkie miasteczko, które znajduje się w południowo-zachodniej części Irlandii, w hrabstwie Clare. Jest świetną bazą wypadową do najbardziej znanych irlandzkich atrakcji turystycznych - Klifów Moheru, Burren, niedaleko stąd do Galway, czy do miasteczka Limerick.
Ennis is situated on the Fergus River. It flooded the town several times when its level rose too high due to heavy rainfall. I was lucky to see the river only in this edition. It flows smoothly through the city center.
Ennis leży nad rzeką Fergus. Kilkukrotnie zalała miasteczko, gdy w wyniku intensywnych opadów deszczu jej poziom podniósł się za wysoko. Ja miałam to szczęście, że widziałam rzekę tylko w takim wydaniu. Spokojnie płynącą przez centrum miasta.
And this is what the town looks like. As you can see, there are lots of colorful houses decorated in intense colors.
A tak wygląda miasteczko. Jak widzicie jest tu mnóstwo kolorowych domków, przyozdobionych w intensywnych barwach.

Besides, not only this one, see the next ones. Irish postcards can be very inventive :) We have a cow standing on the road here, feeding the calf :D Donkeys, and children with a donkey on the hill ... I have the habit of sending my friends postcards from my travels and I remember that they were delighted with the cards I sent them from Ireland :)
Zresztą nie tylko ta, zobaczcie kolejne. Irlandzkie pocztówki bywają bardzo pomysłowe :) Mamy tu krowę stojącą na jezdni, karmiąc przy okazji cielaka :D Osiołki, a także dzieci z osiołkiem na wzgórzu... Mam zwyczaj wysyłania znajomym pocztówek z podróży i pamiętam, że byli zachwyceni kartkami, które przesłałam im z Irlandii :)
In the city, at the cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, there is such a sculpture with huge hands. It's called "Healing Hands" by Shane Gilmore.
W mieście, przy katedrze św. Piotra i Pawła znajduje się taka rzeźba z ogromnymi dłońmi. Ma nazwę "Leczące ręce", a jej autorem jest Shane Gilmore.
There are several historic churches in the town, built in the Gothic style.
W miasteczku znajduje się kilka zabytkowych kościołów, zbudowanych w gotyckim stylu.
Ennis looks good even though the weather conditions are sometimes extreme here. I know from townspeople that very often hurricane winds blow here and it rains. The rainfall is very intense and can last for weeks.
Ennis nieźle się prezentuje mimo, że warunki atmosferyczne bywają tu czasami ekstremalne. Wiem od mieszkańców miasta, że bardzo często wieją tu huraganowe wiatry i pada deszcz. Przy czym opady są bardzo intensywne i mogą trwać tygodniami.
