Edinburgh is also the capital of Scotland and you can see at every step that we are in this area. Is it thanks to Scottish flags, men dressed in a traditional kilt, or the ubiquitous Scottish plaid (chairs in public transport have been decorated with it).
Edynburg to także stolica Szkocji i na każdym kroku widać, że jesteśmy w tym rejonie. Czy to dzięki szkockim flagom, mężczyznom ubranym w tradycyjny kilt, czy wszechobecną szkocką kratę (widziałam nawet przystrojone w nią krzesła w komunikacji miejskiej).
In the city center there is a wonderful green area, the city park called Princess Street Gardens. I used to go there every day during my stay in Edinburgh and soaked up the atmosphere of the city.
W centrum miasta znajduje się cudowny obszar zieleni, park miejski zwany Princess Street Gardens. Przychodziłam tam codziennie podczas mojego pobytu w Edynburgu i chłonęłam klimat tego miasta.
This is one of the main streets of Edinburgh, Princess Street. Many places in Edinburgh were the inspiration for J. K. Rowling in creating the places in her fantastic novel about the adventures of Harry Potter. George Heriot’s School was the prototype of Hoghwarts, and Victoria Street resembles Diagon Alley.
A tak wygląda jedna z głównych ulic Edynburga Princess Street. Wiele miejsc w Edynburgu było inspiracją dla J. K. Rowling przy tworzeniu miejsc akcji w swojej fantastycznej powieści o przygodach Harrego Pottera. Szkoła im. George Heriot'a była pierwowzorem Hoghwartu, a ulica Victorii przypomina Diagon Alley.
In Edinburgh you can find many Scots wearing tartan skirts, the so-called kilts and bagpipes. This piper had special effects bagpipes, because when he blew on them there was fire at the ends. It was a fiery sound :)
W Edynburgu można spotkać wielu Szkotów noszących spódniczki w szkocką kratę, tzw. kilty i grających na dudach. Ten dudziarz miał dudy z efektami specjalnymi, bo gdy w nie dmuchał na ich końcach pojawiał się ogień. To było ogniste granie :)
