City God Pavilion, Hangzhou, China (5 pics)

After a rainy day exploring the city of Hangzhou, we see this temple at the top of a hill and we decide to go see it more closely.

This is the City God Pavilion or Chenghuang Pavilion, a 7 story building with presence of architectural flair from the Yuan and Ming dynasties and which contains a beautiful collection of art, what could be better.

The path to get there is very well laid out.

Despite being in the mountains, the path is straight, with no rocks or branches in the way, this is so rare and so nice.

On the way, we are even entitled to several small pavilions to enhance our walk.

I find it charming to stumble upon structures coated with nature.

A little sunshine appeared when reaching the top, so we regained the hope of having a beautiful view of the city, the lake and the mountains at the top.

Before that, a beautiful engraved wall awaited us.

Lots of detail on the different panels, too bad we didn't have explanatory boards giving us more details.

Unfortunately, the rain and fog returned and our hope of admiring the beautiful view from the top was gone.

In addition, the pavilion was already closed when we got to the top, it's really bad luck.

Despite that, it was a very nice walk.
