Hello Hivers

Welcome to Lake Minnewanka, in Alberta, Canada.

Located a short drive from the very tourist busy town of Banff, so it is very busy during the Summer months. This day there were only a few people at the lake.

It has been occupied for thousands of years by Native people, the Stoney Nakoda Nation who have been hunting and fishing along the shore, there is archeological evidence dating back 10,000 years to the Clovis people.

fairly gradual. It would be a good trail to mountain bike, with a few technical sections.

You notice the water hasn't frozen over yet, the wind blowing along the length of the lake, made it cold, and also there were some white caps on the water. That and the depth leaves it later in the year to freeze over.

Thanks for enjoying Lake Minnewanka with me.
