Mishima Take Out and Bar Festival.

From the 19th to the 25th of July this year, there was an event in Mishima. If you bought a map and 5 tickets for 4,000 yen, you could use the 5 tickets at the many many places on the map and try out the food there and, of course an alcoholic drink, throughout Mishima city.

It was an interesting day and we found some new places to go and drink, later in the year, when this stupid pandemic finishes.

The first place we tried was a row of food stalls next to Shirataki park. We tried the sandwich and the beer from a Shimizu town restaurant. I didn't think much of it, so I had a bad feeling about this ticket food festival after that.

After that, we walked along the river running out of the park downstream to a small café opposite the river called Raku. Here, you could have a beer or glass of wine and a small curry with a Mishima Croquette for one ticket. This was not bad and a big step up from the previous ticket, I was feeling happier now.

After this we moved just a few meters along to a very nice Italian place, called Mastica Vina right next to the same river. There we had a selection of cheese and cold meat with another glass of wine for the third ticket.

I forgot to take a picture of the food here, but it was very good and served in nice surroundings.

For the fourth and fifth tickets we made our way to Hirokoji, because we wanted to go to the standing bar by the station and top up on beer and highballs.

In the fourth place, called Dechotto, near the Hirokoji Station, we had a small pizza and another glass of wine. The pizza was fantastic and the wine was pretty good too. This place used to be a sports bar before the pandemic, but now they're a pizza place and very good pizzas they have there too. You can buy frozen ones and take them home too. Definitely recommended.

The fifth place was also in Hirokoji, which is is awash with bars and restaurants. The name of this last place is RAI4. Its an Izakaya, but its more like a large bar with some large TV's which were showing the start of the Olympics.

Here we had ratatouille and beer and highball. This place is definitely one which I will return to, nice vibe and nice food.

This was a very nice, interesting bar crawl after a bit of a wonky start. We should have use the tickets over several days, but were so busy going to the beach and watching the Olympics that we only had time on the very last day of the event to do it. Consequently, we very much overate and drunk too much, but it was very enjoyable nevertheless.
