It is a famois railway station of pakistan and is built in 1890 by british government.Tourists from all over pakistan come to visit this historical railway station of pakistan.The unique thing about this railway station is that it is buit like a fort and it is the most ancient railway station of pakistan.It is almost 133 years old.
This beautiful railway station is situated in the village paikhel district mianwali province punjab of pakistan.
The formal inauguratation ceremony of this railway station was held in march 18, 1892.At that time troops and horses deployed in the said railway station beacause it was an opened and hilly area and decoits were wondering here and there for looting passengers.
The british government of that time made a fort on this building to save the precious lives and luggage of the passengers.
Before the establishement of pakistan, the name of this railway station was Norh western railway station.
When pakistan came into being it is called paikhel railway station.Many documentaries have been made on the history of this wonderful railway station.An ancient monument of history of pakistan is still in its original form even after passing 133 years.Infact it is the most ancient and historical railway station of not even pakistan but subcontinent.
Now I will show you the inner view of this wonderful heritage of pakistani civilization.Iron gates of this railway station are still present in their original form after passing 133 years.Heavy gates were made at that time for the protection of passangers and their luggage.Inner view of this historical railway station is also have an attractive look.
Now I will show you the office of this railway station.The old fashioned office of this fort like railway station has an amazing look.There are old fashioned telephones are available in the office and the building of this office is llso looks very nice.I took permission from the railway officer to visit and capture some clicks of office of this wonderful monument of pakistan.
This historical building of paikhel railway station is a heritage of pakistan.It needs the attention of pakistan government,it needs to be revamped and reconstructed again.Unfortunately it is not given any attention by pakistan government and this cultural heritage of pakistan and a wonderful place for the tourists of not even pakistan but from all o over the world is destroying.
