Hi, Pinmapple community! This time let me bring you to Macau, a quick trip from Hong Kong.
After we made our city tour with Big Bus, the group decided to go to Macau.
We finished early about 7 PM. After the Star Ferry ride, we switched to TurboJet.
Taking the TurboJet from Hong Kong to Macau
I recommend doing the Macau tour for the whole day. Get up early from your hotel and book a legit tour as your tour agency will pick you up from the hotel. There are several things to do in Macau.
We took the TurboJet which cost us HK $150. We passed by immigration so we always had our passports with us.
The waiting area of the port was spotless and convenient. It felt like we were in the airport.
Waiting for boarding.
We enjoyed the ride on TurboJet it was quick.
We arrived at the Terminal Maritimo de Passageiros Do Porto Exterior, written in Portuguese.
From the Macau port, there were free shuttle services that would bring you to different hotels. We went to the Venetian Hotel
We saw this beautiful bridge on our way to the hotel. It was long.
Venetian Hotel
We were surprised by the luxury feel of the Venetian Hotel we took a lot of photos of the interiors and the ceilings.
Several people had their photos taken here so a photo session was a must here.
We went to the Casino and spent some of our money on gambling. Hahaha! The guard thought I was below 18 years old because I looked like a teenager. She touched my baby face cough cough hahaha! I showed her my passport and we went inside.
The Grand Canal Shoppes
After our gambling session, we went upstairs to see the Grand Canal Shoppes. Indeed, it felt like we were in Venice, Italy. We enjoyed taking photos here.
I remember this area when there was a scene from Meteor Garden, a Taiwanese drama. Shan Cai and the F4 guys had a scene in this area.
And of course, we never forget to take group photos.
And more.
Several Instagrammable photos in the area. We didn't try the boat because it was expensive.
And it was time to go out.
This was outside of the hotel and we needed to take a bus to go to Senado Square.
Walls of St. Paul Church
There would be a lot of things to do at Senado Square but we arrived very late. So, we had to find the Walls of St. Paul Church.
It was very late that a lot of establishments were closing. Supposedly, if you come here with daylight, the place would be all crowded. Many people are taking photos by the stairs.
Luckily, we had a beautiful backdrop view of the Ruins.
All photos were taken using a Nikon D5100 with 18-55 mm lens and I made sure to bring a camera tripod for group photos. Of course, I also brought a remote shutter with me.
Verdict of our Macau trip
If it's your first time in Hong Kong, going to Macau is a must. Take a day tour in Macau and go back to Hong Kong in the late evening. Next time, I should explore more of Macau. So many history in this place.
