Hello my friends, it has been a while since I left Izmir, but I will continue to share with you the places I visited and the photos I took there. If you ask any Turkish person "Who is the most important person in history for you?" the answer will most likely be the same, Atatürk. The answer is the same for me too. I have previously shared with you the Atatürk House Museum that I visited in Adana. A year has passed, time really flies... Now I will share the Ataturk museum I visited in Izmir, enjoy!

The outside view of the museum is really nice. It looks like it is made of marble and reflects the old architecture of Turkey very well. The museum was built in 1941, 3 years after Atatürk died. When I was in front of the museum, some young people saw me taking pictures and looked at what I was taking pictures of. When they saw the museum, they decided to visit it too. This made me feel good, young people should visit museums. They should feel the history.

As soon as you entered the museum there was a screen where you could watch a short movie about Izmir Atatürk Museum. I watched the movie for a while, I saw how Izmir looked like 80-90 years ago. It is very different from now, no skyscrapers but still very crowded.

At the entrance of the museum, they also included a plan of the museum, which is great. For example, after I visited the museum, I checked the list to see if there was a room I missed.

One thing I didn't expect to see in the museum was this statue of a child. What are you doing here man, you should be in the archaeology museum haha. I must say it looks stunning. Perfect craftsmanship from the toenail details to the dress.

Ataturk's life is full of achievements. He was fighting on many fronts before the fall of the Ottoman Empire and won important victories in the wars under his command. He put down rebellions and proved to everyone what a great commander he was even in his youth. Atatürk was more than a commander, he was a brilliant leader. He has contributed a lot to the Turkish society today in every way. The clothing revolution, the freedoms and rights he gave to women, the attempts to transition to multi-party life and above all a Republic. All of these are mentioned in the photographs I have shared above.

On the ground floor of the museum, there is also a boat that Atatürk sailed in Izmir. You can see the photo just behind the boat.

This is the meeting room. Atatürk and the commanders with him are planning an important battle. The people in the photo are not only senior commanders but also important people for the Republic of Turkey. İsmet İnönü is one of the people in the photograph. It was quite remarkable that there was a piano in the room. I don't know if this piano really belongs to this room or if it was put here to be exhibited.

This is the library room. Atatürk was a man who read a lot of books and not only Turkish works. The works you see in the photo are all in French. I think they are original because they are locked and preserved.

A leader of a state should always set an example for his people by the way he dresses. Atatürk's clothes look very elegant even today. I am not a fashion designer but I don't think they will ever go out of style.

As you can imagine, this is the bathroom. It is as simple as it should be. A bathtub, a mirror, a clothes rack and a rug on the floor.

A photo from the living room. Actually, there was another photo where I took the room from a wider angle, but my hand was shaky in that photo and I only realized it now. What a beginner I am. Still, it doesn't stop me from talking about the beauty of the curtains. They look aesthetic.

Another thing I noticed in the living room is the beauty of the chandelier. Doesn't it look perfect? I'm sure it's custom made. It has wonderful details and it took me a few minutes to examine all the details. Birds, babies, flowers. I would love to have a chandelier like this.

This is the office. I would love to know what he was thinking and how he was planning. It was not easy to establish the republic when the Ottoman Empire was collapsing and he had to play a 100-dimensional chess, in today's terms. He fought many countries and negotiated with many others.

This is Atatürk's barber's room. The first time I saw this room I was quite surprised because it was the first time I had ever heard of a barber's room. In the next photo I understood why the barber's room existed. I apologize for the vertical, but I had to share it. Ataturk used to take care of his clothes and cleanliness even in times of war. He would wake up every morning, have a coffee and a cigarette and then go to his barber for a shave. If he was going to attend a ball, he would shave once more in the evening. He disliked beards and even wanted his employees to be clean-shaven.

This is Atatürk's bedroom. You can see from the paintings on the walls that he really cared and loved art. I don't know why there was an armchair in the room. Maybe he had a conversation in his bedroom before going to sleep or he drank his coffee in his bedroom when he woke up.

The guest room is simply furnished and has almost everything he had in his own room.

Atatürk expressed his love for Izmir at every opportunity because Izmir is very similar to Thessaloniki, the city where he was born and raised. He visited this city exactly 16 times. His mother died in Izmir and he met Latife Hanım, whom he married, here.

This is the last place I visited in the museum, the dining hall. He was probably having dinner with his friends and loved ones at a very large table. Does anyone have such a table in their home today? We usually eat alone or in pairs. Anyway, I think this is a topic for another post.

A photo I took of the ceiling of the museum. The museum is really big and the ceiling is high so it's really airy. So when you go inside you feel refreshed. Also its location is on the beach and it is a place that everyone can visit. As far as I know, it is open every day except Monday. It is a must for every Turkish person and history lover.

Merhaba dostlarım, İzmir'den ayrılalı bir süre oldu ama sizlerle orada gezdiğim yerleri ve çektiğim fotoğrafları paylaşmaya devam edeceğim. Herhangi bir Türk'e "Senin için tarihteki en önemli kişi kimdir?" diye sorarsanız cevabı çok yüksek ihtimalle aynı olacaktır, Atatürk. Cevap benim için de aynı. Sizlerle daha önce Adana'da gittiğim Atatürk Evi Müzesi'ni paylaşmıştım. Aradan tam bir yıl geçmiş, zaman gerçekten akıyor... Şimdi de İzmir'de ziyaret ettiğim Atatürk müzesini paylaşacağım. Tadını çıkarın!

Müzenin dışarıdan görünüşü gerçekten çok hoş. Mermerden yapılmış gibi görünüyor ve Türkiye'nin eski mimarisini çok iyi yansıtıyor. Müze1941 yılında inşa edilmiş yani Atatürk öldükten 3 yıl sonra. Müzenin önündeyken birkaç genç fotoğraf çektiğimi gördü ve neyin fotoğrafını çektiğime baktılar. Müzeyi görünce onlar da ziyaret etmeye karar verdi. Bu bana iyi hissettirdi, gençlerin müzeleri gezmesi gerekiyor. Tarihi hissetmeliler.

Müzeye girer girmez İzmir Atatürk Müzesi'ne dair bir kısa filmi izleyebildiğiniz bir ekran vardı. Filmi bir süre izledim, İzmir'in bundan 80-90 yıl önce nasıl göründüğünü gördüm. Şu anki halinden çok farklı, gökdelenler yok ama yine de çok kalabalık.

Müzenin girişinde müzenin planına da yer vermişler ki bu harika bir şey. Örneğin ben müzeyi gezdikten sonra acaba atladığım bir oda var mı diye listeden kontrol ettim.

Müzede görmeyi beklemediğim bir şey bu çocuk heykeliydi. Burada ne arıyorsun dostum? Arkeoloji müzesinde olman gerekiyor haha. İnanılmaz güzel göründüğünü söylemeliyim. Ayak tırnağı detaylarından elbisesine kadar mükemmel bir işçilik.

Atatürk'ün hayatı başarılarla dolu. Osmanlı Devleti yıkılmadan önce de pek çok cephede savaşıyordu ve komutasındaki savaşlarda önemli zaferler kazandı. İsyanlar bastırdı ve gençlik yıllarında bile ne kadar büyük bir komutan olduğunu herkese ispatladı. Atatürk bir komutandan da öte müthiş zeki bir liderdi. Türk toplumunun bugünlere gelmesinde her açıdan çok emeği var. Kıyafet devrimi, kadınlara verdiği özgürlükler ve haklar, çok partili hayata geçiş denemeleri ve hepsinden ötesi bir Cumhuriyet. Bunların hepsinden yukarıda paylaştığım fotoğraflarda bahsediliyor.

Müzenin zemin katında Atatürk'ün İzmir'de denize açıldığı bir tekne de var. Teknenin hemen arkasında fotoğrafı görebilirsiniz.

Burası toplantı odası. Atatürk ve yanındaki komutanlar önemli bir savaşın planını yapıyorlar. Fotoğraftaki kişiler sadece üst düzey komutanlar değil Türkiye Cumhuriyet için de önemli kişiler. İsmet İnönü fotoğraftaki kişilerden bir tanesi. Odada bir piyano olması oldukça dikkat çekiciydi. Bu piyano gerçekten bu odaya mı ait yoksa sergilenmek için mi buraya koyulmuş bilmiyorum.

Burası kütüphane odası. Atatürk çok kitap okuyan bir insandı ve sadece Türkçe eserler okumuyordu. Fotoğrafta gördüğünüz eserlerin hepsi Fransızca. Kilitli şekilde korundukları için eserlerin orijinal olduğunu düşünüyorum.

Bir devlet lideri her zaman giyimiyle halkına örnek olmalıdır. Atatürk'ün kıyafetleri günümüzde bile oldukça şık görünüyor. Ben bir modacı değilim ama bunların modasının asla geçeceğini düşünmüyorum.

Tahmin edebileceğiniz gibi burası banyo. Olması gerektiği gibi sade. Bir küvet, bir ayna kıyafetler için askılık ve yerde kilim.

Salondan bir fotoğraf. Aslında odayı daha geniş açıdan çektiğim bir fotoğraf daha vardı ancak o fotoğrafta elim titremiş ve ben bunu şu anda fark ettim. Ne kadar acemiyim. Yine de perdelerin güzelliğinden bahsetmeme engel değil. Estetik görünüyorlar.

Salonda dikkatimi çeken başka bir şey de avizenin güzelliği. Mükemmel görünmüyor mu ? Özel üretildiğine eminim. Harika detaylara sahip ve bütün detayları incelemem birkaç dakika sürdü. Kuşlar, bebekler, çiçekler. Böyle bir avizeye sahip olmayı çok isterdim.

Burası çalışma odası. Burada neler düşündüğünü ve nasıl planlar yaptığını bilmeyi çok isterdim. Osmanlı yıkılırken cumhuriyeti kurmak kolay değildi ve günümüz tabiriyle 100 boyutlu bir satranç oynaması gerekiyordu. Bir sürü ülkeyle savaştı, pek çoğuyla müzakereler yaptı.

Burası Atatürk'ün berber odası. Bu odayı ilk gördüğümde oldukça şaşırdım çünkü berber odası diye bir tabiri ilk defa duydum. Bir sonraki fotoğrafta berber odasının neden var olduğunu anladım. Dikey olduğu için özür dilerim ama paylaşmam gerekiyordu. Atatürk savaş zamanlarında bile giyimine ve temizliğine dikkat edermiş. Her sabah uyanıp kahve ve sigarasını içtikten sonra berberine tıraş olurmuş. Eğer bir baloya katılacaksa akşam bir kez daha tıraş olurmuş. Sakalı hiç sevmezmiş ve hatta çalışanlarının da sakalsız olmasını istermiş.

Burası Atatürk'ün yatak odası. Duvarlardaki tablolardan sanata gerçekten önem verdiğini ve sevdiğini görebilirsiniz. Odada neden koltuk olduğunu bilmiyorum. Belki de o dönemler yatak odasında uyumadan önce bir sohbet gerçekleştiriyordu ya da uyandığında kahvesini odasında içiyordu.

Misafir odası, sade döşenmiş ve neredeyse kendi odasında ne varsa burada da var.

Burada da Atatürk'e ait günlük kıyafetleri ve tespihini görebilirsiniz.

Atatürk İzmir'i çok sevdiğini her fırsatta dile getirmiş çünkü İzmir doğup büyüdüğü şehir olan Selanik'e çok benziyor. Bu şehri tam 16 defa ziyaret etmiş. Annesi İzmir'de vefat etmiş ve evlendiği Latife Hanım ile burada tanışmıştır.

Burası da müzede gezdiğim son yer olan yemek salonu. Oldukça geniş bir masada muhtemelen arkadaşlarıyla ve sevdikleriyle yemek yiyordu. Günümüzde evinde böyle bir masaya sahip olan biri var mı? Genelde ya tek başımıza ya da iki kişi yemek yiyoruz. Neyse sanırım bu başka bir postun konusu.

Müzenin tavanını çektiğim bir fotoğraf. Müze gerçekten büyük ve tavanı yüksekte olduğu için havadar bir yapısı var. Yani içeri girdiğiniz zaman ferahlıyorsunuz. Ayrıca konumu da sahilde ve herkesin ziyaret edebileceği bir yer. Bildiğim kadarıyla Pazartesi dışında her gün açık. Her Türk insanının ve tarih severin burayı mutlaka ziyaret etmesi gerektiğini düşünüyorum.
