Once upon a while in Norfolk Lounge

One of the places that the farm boy and I usually go when we feel like driving away from our house for a while is our region's capital, La Trinidad or LTB as we put it. It is just 2 hours away by car and we can just drive there in the morning and come back home late afternoon, or we would spend the night at my sister's place.

LTB is known as the Salad Bowl of the Philippines. For tourists, they would remember the Strawberry Farms. For us though, it is home away from the mountains, although technically, it is still surrounded by mountains. We usually go there when we have something to buy that isn't available in our town or just for the sake of breathing a different air from time to time and along with that is to satisfy our food cravings too.

Last year, we found our to-go place each time we needed somewhere to relax and eat. It is a simple and cozy lounge called Norfolk.

One feature of the place that we like the most is its quietness. Although it is located along a busy street, once we are inside, we don't seem to notice or hear any noise from the outside. The atmosphere just makes us feel peaceful and warm.

The interior decorations have gone country which to me are quite nice. They also play mostly country music in the lounge.

They have a lot of plants on the ground floor which adds up to the serenity and coolness of the area.

And the second floor is even quieter. When we are there, we feel like we are in a secluded place.

And even better because they have shelves full of books in different genres, novels, history, finance, personal improvement etcetera.

One can stay a while and read if he so desires. Apart from the books, the walls are also painted with different interesting arts.

What about the food?

Ah! We like them! Checking the dates on the photos, we have actually been to the place 3 times last quarter of last year and 4 times this year, the last time being in September.

This is their fun sandwich paired with sweet potato fries.

And we fill our tummies with their Yummilicious Carbonara with slices of toasted bread.

And below are their tasty version of the Baby Back Ribs. The farm boy loves these!

Their chicken and spaghetti combo with sweet potato fries is also good. We thought the sweet potatoes were odd but after having them, they are actually tasty and add up some sweetness to the whole of the meal. And their sauces are absolutely tasty!

And yes, they also have unlimited black coffee as their complimentary beverage. It is definitely good when reading something from their shelves.

Overall, we like the place simply because it makes us feel good and we like the food and yes, the positive ambiance that it provides.

With the many restaurants around the capital, this became our favorite and will remain one unless we discover a different place even better to kick off our boots too :)

Thank you for joining me today and until next time!
