Alter Park- Wild beauty between Son Tra peninsula, Da Nang

Hello, my friends!
How are you today?
So another weekend is coming, have you got any plans for your weekend? Today, I will introduce to you an interesting place that few people know about in Da Nang city, where I live and work.
This place belongs to Son Tra peninsula, deep in the city's preserved primeval forest, and has a very poetic and magical name: Nhat Lam Thuy Trang Tra, its English name is Alter Park. This adventure of ours took place at the end of the last week, my friends and I had a day to explore around Son Tra peninsula and had a pretty fun and interesting experience from the trip that.

Son Tra Peninsula is a peninsula located to the west of Da Nang city. In addition to the beautiful scenes located in the city center such as the bridges crossing the Han River or the majestic Hai Van Pass with mountains on one side and the sea on one side, the Son Tra peninsula is also a very attractive place for tourists who want to explore wild nature. About 24km west of the city center, Nhat Lam Thuy Trang Tra, also known as Alter Park, is a wild nature reserve of Da Nang city. The Vietnamese name of this place means one of the most beautiful farms in Da Nang with enough water and charming scenery. There are forests and streams here, next to the forest is the coast with steep cliffs, mixed with the sound of waves crashing.

We started from the city center, followed the Vo Nguyen Giap sea route, headed towards Son Tra peninsula, then to Hoang Sa street. This road leads to the famous Linh Ung pagoda, for those who come to Da Nang, no one should miss this famous sightseeing spot. Going to another section, you will meet a very beautiful road, with a mountain road, one side is the blue sea, the grass, and the yellow flowers beside the beach, with rows of confetti in full bloom showing off their vibrant colors along the other side of the road. The railing of this road is built very carefully, small pillars are planted along the edge of the road, on which statues of monkeys are sitting with arms crossed. This is the road that young people or tourists often come to take pictures of, because of its strangeness and extremely beautiful scenery. Standing from here, you can look at the curved My Khe strait with white sand stretches and a part of Da Nang city.

Go a short further, you will meet a big fork. If you look up to the left is the InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort, to get to Alter Park, you have to go to the right of that junction. If you are unsure about the direction, you can ask the guards here, they will enthusiastically guide you. The road to Alter Park is a bit difficult and complicated, but you can ask for directions from Google Maps, but sometimes in the forest, you can't catch the phone signal, so it's a bit inconvenient for smartphone use. This road is all paved with concrete, but it has quite a steep slope and stands, so you definitely have to pay attention to your own safety, and definitely don't ride a scooter, but must go by motorcycle to be able to brake safely.

Continue for about more than 3km, you will see another fork. At this time, if you go to the right, you will reach the thousand-year-old Banyan Tree and the way down to Mui Nghe, it is the East Pole of Da Nang, where the first sunrise on land is welcomed. If you turn left, you will reach Alter Park. We chose the left to explore this trip. Go a short distance further, you will reach Alter Park.

This Alter Park area and Da Nang's Tien Sa Lighthouse are next to each other, so it was convenient for us to visit this Lighthouse. Tien Sa Lighthouse has a height of 15.6m and a visibility of 14 nautical miles. The top of the mountain gate This lighthouse was built in 1902 by the French, so this is considered one of the oldest lighthouses in Vietnam. Due to being built by the French, this lighthouse has a bold architectural style of France has both the ancient style of that time and the modern style of now. Because this place is located on the edge of the forest of Son Tra peninsula, this place is still very wild, surrounded by primeval forest, and preserved until now. Therefore, this place is surrounded by a green color of the forest, one side overlooking the vast sea.

The scenery here is really a perfect setting that nature gives this beautiful peninsula. We went to visit the lighthouse and were guided very enthusiastically by the marine soldiers. The border guards happily and kindly invited us to eat mangoes, which they had just picked from the tree. Here also grow many other fruit trees such as bananas, custard apples, pomegranates... The border guards live here, on duty to light up the lighthouse at night, to help fishermen navigate at night.

Then we left this lighthouse to Alter Park. Outside this Alter Park area, there is a gate to go inside, with 2 rows of trees planted on both sides to make decorative fences. The feeling of everything is very ancient and quiet when entering the other gate. A completely different scene appeared before our eyes, it was magical and looked very poetic but mysterious. From huge old trees, with long and large roots zigzagging on the ground, to the mossy green lake. The whole main campus is located in the middle of this forest.

Here, the air in all four seasons is fresh and cool, because it is surrounded by primeval forests and tall, shady old banyan trees. Walking in the middle of the forest, you seem to be lost in the fairy forest of the animated movies, and this place is likened to the "Amazon" forest of Da Nang. Lost in this mysterious charming scene, you will be relaxed after a week of hard work and fatigue.

Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is a place where you can come and stop to explore it in your own way, to enjoy what nature has to offer. Nature is always the most wonderful thing that we should cherish and preserve, and new and interesting things that nature is waiting for us to discover.
