During our one day trip to Tuburan, Cebu City, Philippines, my friends and I explored the various attractions of the town, one of which was Matawihan Spring a cold spring located in Barangay Cogon in the town of Tuburan. This cold spring is a popular spot for locals who come here to swim for free and even wash their clothes. Tuburan is known for its abundance of water forms and scenic spots, including cold springs and beautiful beaches. I will take you through one of the most famous springs in Tuburan, called the Mantawihan Spring, where visitors can freely swim, bathe, or do laundry without any entrance fees. However, it is important to be responsible and keep the area clean by not littering.

HOW TO GET HERE IN MANTAWIHAN SPRING?

We have our own motorcycle and from Cebu City Proper, we travelled the Busay- Balamban- Transcentral Highway Route and reached the town of Tuburan.

If you are a public commuter, ride a Tuburan bus in Cebu North Bus Terminal and once you reach the town of Tuburan, there are motorcycles for rent that will take you to Mantawihan Spring.

Once you arrive at the place, you will see the pristine, clear waters of Mantawihan Spring. It's enticing, and it will call you to swim. When we arrived, there were no people, so we had a place on our own.

I appreciate how the locals take pride in maintaining the cleanliness of the area. Mantawihan Spring is a popular spot for both local and international tourists, attracting a large number of visitors on weekends and holidays.

If you're interested in taking a refreshing dip in a cold spring, Mantawihan Spring is a great option. Personally, I find it to be an excellent way to relieve stress, especially after the hustle and bustle of city life.

I visited the spring after a stressful day at work and it was incredibly helpful in easing my worries. There's nothing quite like soaking in a cold spring while listening to the birds chirping and the sounds of nature all around you.

While the location is ideal, it's important to note that if you plan on having a picnic there, you'll need to bring your own supplies. There are no rental cottages or tables and chairs available, so be sure to pack a tent, picnic table, and utensils if you plan on spending time here.

My recent visit to Mantawihan Spring in Cogon, Tuburan, Cebu, Philippines, made me appreciate the abundance of water and tourist destinations in the Philippines, particularly in the small town of Tuburan in Cebu City. This charming town boasts numerous cold springs and bodies of water that showcase the beauty of nature. As someone who loves exploring new places, I always make it a point to add unique destinations to my bucket list. Since it was my first time visiting the spring, I plan to return and bring along a picnic basket to enjoy the serene atmosphere with my loved ones. One of the best things about this place is that it's budget-friendly, with no admission fees, so you can invite as many people as you like.

See you on my next adventure! Ciao!☺︎♡
