Part Central American, part Caribbean, this Honduran island uses both the U.S. dollar and the Honduran lempira; English and Spanish languages (and a Caribbean Creole).
It's friendly for tourists and expats, while also enriching for those wanting an authentic cultural experience.

A friend from Mexico recently joked with me that I'd do well being in Latin American advertising, because they like the look, she said. Fittingly, this is the first ad I see in a store. This guy could be my cousin. haha
Roatan features a centuries-old black community on the eastern side of the island. Each Sunday, as seen here, they play a symphony of percussion instruments while performers dance.

The brunch was held at this Bitcoin academy (more on this place on my next photo album). It featured folks from the U.S., Slovakia, and Honduras.
As seen in a previous album, some beaches are pristine. Others are littered.
Gym I used. ($6/day. Not bad.)
Driving further along to that village, I decided to take a short cut. Shorter, yes. Worse for my rental car... also yes.
