Beaches of Turkey on a cool roadtrip

Hello people and pinmapplers!

Or merhaba! (hello in Turkish)
It's still summer, it's hot around here, and the best thing is to be able to cool off on the beach, and of course it's also travel time, what if we do both? In some places there are so many beaches that if we don't have too much time the best option is to take a different trip, a road trip and so I traveled the Mediterranean coast of Turkey to discover some of its most iconic beaches.

We start the beach route: Turkey's beaches or Türkiye Plajları.

Marmaris

We covered the distance directly from Izmir (the country's third city, in the west, on the Aegean coast) to Marmaris further south. And here what is most striking is the amount of tourism, especially English tourists, so in the main city there is a lot of movement, people and life. But if we want a quiet place and finally take a bath, there are also beaches a little further out, where there is more vegetation but also a charming pier, boats and an atmosphere of serenity. Although the sand is not fine and white, rather more stony, but the water is great. From the coast we look at the surrounding mountains.

On the road

And when we move away we continue our trip precisely going up those same mountains, from the car and stopping we enjoy the panoramic views of the green of the lush vegetation and the blue of the sea. We follow the route.

Ölüdeniz

Interestingly the name means “dead sea”, and somehow it is a kind of inland special sea with a different composition and a different color. Although it does not float the same as in the famous Dead Sea.
It is a large tourist area, with a complex, tourist residences, activities such as paragliding, there are also boats and quiet moments, when most of people are gone, especially at the last moments of the day. So you can also enjoy the sunset in the different areas.

Here, too, the sand is somewhat grayer and with small stones, but the water, as I say, is different, a strange and relaxing sensation. Ideal to go to sleep here and the next day continue the route.

Patara

In the morning we arrived at a large wild beach, windy and few people, this time with soft and fine sand, meters and meters of white sand and a long coastline.

An old beach with history, so much so that we found it after leaving, monuments and archaeological remains around the area.

Highway again

And now while we walk or cross the profile of the coast, I see in the distance a town that catches my attention, I think it was Kemer, although we didn't stop there much, I think the people who live there must have a good quality of life, it gave me that feeling. And we continue to enjoy more impressive views of the non-stop moving sea.

Kaputaş

We arrived at one of the most longed for places, a unique and special place. One of those beaches sandwiched between mountains, backed by the cliff that protects it and almost hides it, because accessing it is not easy. On the same road, you have to stop and try to park around the side of the road and then go down a long staircase (with your flip-flops) and then stand there in front of that vibrant and brilliant water.

Here we put the umbrella and lie down, rest from the trip... a quick and fresh roadtrip that takes us to the views of different beaches in this wonderful country. From here we go straight to Antalya, the big city on the south coast, and so we say:
See you Turkey! or Görüşürüz Türkiye!. 🇹🇷
