Good morning to the entire Hive community, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Daniela writes to tell you about a special place: the Quilmes Ruins in the Calchaquíes Valleys, Tucumán, Argentina.
Buen día a toda la comunidad de Hive, desde Buenos Aires, Argentina, les escribe Daniela para contarles sobre un lugar especial: las Ruinas de Quilmes en los Valles Calchaquíes, Tucumán, Argentina.
Located at the foot of the Alto del Rey hill, they occupy around 30 hectares and are the remains of the most extensive pre-Columbian settlement in the area.
Ubicadas al pie del cerro Alto del Rey, ocupan alrededor de 30 hectáreas y son los restos del mas extenso asentamiento precolombino de la zona.
The place was first owned by the indigenous people, later by the provincial state, later by a private concessionaire and finally, by the descendants of the Quilme people.
El lugar fue primero propiedad del pueblo indígena, posteriormente del estado provincial, más tarde de un concesionario privado y finalmente, de los descendientes del pueblo quilme.
The entrance is paid, but it is worth it. There is a museum with remains of the Quilme culture, films that explain what happened to them, it really is a museum worth visiting, with a spectacular guided tour.
La entrada es paga, pero vale la pena. Hay un museo con restos de la cultura Quilme, películas que explican lo que les sucedió, realmente es un museo digno de conocer, con visita guidada, espectacular.
You can visit the ruins with and without a guide, it is optional and is included in the ticket. There are indicative signs as well. It is incredible but the place has an inexplicable energy.
Se pueden recorrer las ruinas con y sin guía, es opcional y está incluido en la entrada. Hay carteles indicativos igualmente. Es increible pero el lugar tiene una energía inexplicable.
There is also a place where you can eat something and buy some handicrafts. Visiting it well takes about 4 hours (minimum), because in the museum it takes a long time.
Hay también un lugar donde se puede comer algo y comprar algunas artesanías. Visitarlo bien lleva alrededor de 4 horas (mínimo), porque en el museo se demora bastante.
They are part of our past, worth knowing, with respect and admiration.
