Ho Tay - The Lung Of Ha Noi Capital

Hi guys, how are you? Today I would like to introduce to you a lake which is considered as the lung of Hanoi Capital, Ho Tay (West Lake). Ho Tay is the largest natural lake of Hanoi capital, with an area of โ€‹โ€‹more than 500 hectares and a circumference of 14.8 km. Ho Tay was once a section of the legendary Song Hong (Red River). If Ho Guom (Sword Lake) is considered the heart, then Ho Tay is considered the lung of Hanoi capital, which gives the people of the crowded capital a place to breathe fresh air and spend time with relatives and friends.

Ho Tay is a gathering place for everyone

With a large water surface area and surrounded by many trees, Ho Tay has become a favorite place for people in the surrounding area. They come here to breathe fresh air, exercise, meet friends, sing, dance, draw, take pictures,...or just sit and watch people like me ๐Ÿ˜. In addition, it is also the gathering place of ancient bicycle clubs, playing chess, birds, fishing,...You can find a lot of interesting activities here. Another beauty that I really like here is the street vendors. They can sit in place with a small mobile cafe with a few chairs, or go around with yoke-baskets or with antique bicycles filled with items such as flowers, fruits, water, cigarettes, etc. ...They are the ones who adorn the beauty of this place.

Thanh Nien Street

Thanh Nien Street is a poetic road connecting the two banks of Ho Tay. It divides Ho Tay into 2 lungs of the city. Shaded by trees, Thanh Nien Street is both an important traffic route and a gathering place for people with parks along the side of the road.

Tran Quoc Pagoda

Tran Quoc Pagoda is located on a small island east of Ho Tay. It is considered the oldest pagoda in Hanoi with a history of more than 1500 years. It is accessed via a small road with two rows of areca trees on either side from Thanh Nien Street. Covered by ancient trees on a small island surrounded by calm water, Tran Quoc Pagoda has a majestic, sacred and peaceful beauty. It is a famous attraction for Buddhists and tourists when coming to Hanoi.
