¡Hola Chicos!

Una de las cosas que he estado haciendo mientras estoy en periodo de espera (cuando no tengo electricidad y ya he salido de mis labores diarias) es crear estos pequeños pero a su vez elaborados dibujos de patrones. No tienen idea del nivel de relajación que podemos llegar a sentir al hacerlos. Es un modo de arte bien genial en el que no es necesario ser un gran artista para lograr grandes cosas. Esta forma de dibujo me recuerda un poco cuando nos pasábamos horas pegados al teléfono fijo de casa y rayábamos sin sentido un trozo de papel. Hacíamos palitos, rayitas y pequeñas mayas en él. Bueno esto es algo así. Dejarnos llevar y repetir varias veces una figura hasta lograr un patrón dentro de un espacio delimitado. Se le llama Zentangle art, y descubrí su nombre mientras buscaba diferentes ideas en Pinterest. Al verlo repetidas veces investigué un poco u efectivamente es un arte que nos aporta un nivel de relajación. Similar a lo que ocurre con las mandalas.

One of the things I've been doing while on standby (when I don't have electricity and I'm off my daily chores) is creating these little but elaborate pattern drawings. They have no idea of the level of relaxation that we can feel when doing them. It's a really cool art mode where you don't have to be a great artist to achieve great things. This way of drawing reminds me a bit of when we spent hours glued to the landline phone at home and pointlessly scratched a piece of paper. We made little sticks, hairlines and little Mayans on it. Well this is something like that. Let ourselves go and repeat a figure several times until we achieve a pattern within a delimited space. It's called Zentangle art, and I discovered its name while searching for different ideas on Pinterest. Seeing it repeatedly, I did a little research and it is indeed an art that gives us a level of relaxation. Similar to what happens with the mandalas.

Mi idea era hacer dos dibujos con diferentes patrones, por lo que primero dibujé dos rectángulos sobre un trozo de papel y comencé a trabajar en uno de ellos. Con ayuda de una regla tracé varias líneas hasta formar varios triángulos. Dentro de cada uno iría un patrón diferente. Comencé trazando diferentes patrones. Había visto tantas imágenes que no sabía cuáles hacer, así que deje que mi mano me guiara y fui haciendo estas figuras. Al cabo de un rato llego la electricidad e hice una pequeña pausa para ocuparme en otras cositas.

My idea was to make two drawings with different patterns, so first I drew two rectangles on a piece of paper and started working on one of them. With the help of a ruler I traced several lines to form several triangles. Inside each one would go a different pattern. I started by tracing different patterns. I had seen so many images that I didn't know which ones to make, so I let my hand guide me and I made these figures. After a while the electricity came on and I took a short break to occupy myself with other things.

Al caer la noche me senté en mi mesa de trabajo y continué haciendo mi dibujo. Me desconecté, la verdad que sí. Mientras dibujaba estaba desconectada de mi móvil (solo lo agarre en algunos momentos para tomar las fotos) y de resto solo era yo y mis pensamientos. Me gustó mucho como quedó finalmente y me dieron unas ganas enormes de seguir dibujando y haciendo patrones. Al terminar recorte el trozo excedente de hoja y lo colgué en mi sitio de trabajo para que me sirva de inspiración para mis próximas obras. ¿Conocías está técnica? ¿Lo has hecho antes? Te leo.

As night fell I sat at my work table and continued making my drawing. I disconnected, the truth is. While I was drawing I was disconnected from my mobile (I only grabbed it for a few moments to take photos) and the rest was just me and my thoughts. I really liked how it turned out finally and it made me want to continue drawing and making patterns. When I finished, I cut out the excess piece of the sheet and hung it in my workplace to serve as inspiration for my next works. Did you know this technique? You did before? I read you
