Ancient and Eternal city of Plovdiv

Hello people 😊 Today I will take you on a virtual tour of the beautiful city of Plovdiv, which was once called Philippopolis - the City of the hills, so called because it is located at the foot of six hills..

"Ancient and Eternal" - this is the motto of the second largest city in Bulgaria, which is said to be more ancient than Rome, Athens and Constantinople! There are so many sights and interesting places in and around Plovdiv that you should take at least a week off to visit them😊

On one of the hills, some artists have left part of their art - wonderful graffiti πŸ₯°

I was very impressed by the Catholic Cathedral "St. Ludwig" - the largest in the country, built in the name of the King of France and declared an architectural and artistic monument of culture.

You can get acquainted with the great and very interesting history of this magnificent cathedral here --> sourse

Amazing mural by Arsek & Erase painted in 2022 🎨

At some point, the walk took us to a small restaurant, which turned out to be the oldest in Plovdiv. I stopped to take a photo of the great mural..and here 😊πŸ₯°

We rested a bit by visiting a friend and went out again.. The goal was to visit the concert of three bands, one of which is my favorite πŸ₯° The temperatures had already dropped quite a bit but we still decided to walk. In the center of the city there are well-preserved archaeological excavations from Antiquity, monuments and beautiful old buildings.

This musician was very funny, he supposedly played disco music and defined himself according to the writing as "trans-international, central-square, trance artist, krishna soloist..." πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

But we decided to listen to some more professionally performed music, so we continued to the Under City bar, where we ended the evening by visiting a great concert of three great bands that play great metal πŸ€˜πŸŽΆπŸ‘ˆ One of the bands is my particular favorite and it's called Shambless - they play atmospheric black metal, which according to the vocalist, drummer and creator of the band Pafkata with the nickname "The Elf" takes the listener to another dimension of the world and time πŸ™ƒ

The lyrics of Shambless are in an absolutely made-up language - the Sindarin of my beloved Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings), spoken only by... elves.

I also made myself a present πŸ–€

Thus ended my fun-cultural-musical walk in this my favorite city of Plovdiv - Eternal and Ancient ❀️. I hope you found it interesting too 😊 See you soon friends and thank you for stopping by πŸ‘ˆ
