Grand Canyon West Rim

So I've been lucky enough to get to visit the United States for work and used every day off to see as much of it as I can. I'll make a post including every place I've been but for now I'll show pictures of the most photogenic locations.

I visited the West rim, first impressions weren't great. This side of the Canyon is heavily commercialised, you can't see any of it unless you pay $50 for a very short bus ride to the edge.

But as I had driven 3 hours I didn't want to leave empty handed. In hindsight it was worth it but paying just to see such a huge natural phenomenon.

The weather started off sunny but a flash flood warning came into effect and the weather quickly changed. I thought it was going to ruin my photos but gave me a very unique opportunity, lightning behind the Canyon!

The shot was achieved by taking slow motion video as my phone didn't have motion photo as a feature. Not very high resolution but it did the job.

The crow from earlier even came over to say hi.

All in all I'm glad I took the time out of my trip to see it with my own eyes. It's one of those places that photos never do justice.
