Baidyanath Temple - Deogarh

I have recently visited the Baidyanath Temple in deogarh which is also known as Vaidyanatha Jyotirlinga temple and is among the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. It was a two-day weekend journey from Kolkata and I guess two days is more than enough to cover almost all the places near Deogarh.

We have started from Kolkata in the night and taken a train till Jasidih which is around 8 Kms from Deogarh. The train takes close to 4:30 Hrs and which is the most comfortable journey you will get to reach Jaisdih.

We have already booked our hotel so we reached there early morning. We have visited the temple early morning around 5:30 AM to check if we are allowed to go inside, but not we can just see the Jyotirlinga from outside and thus we have kept the next day afternoon to get inside the temple to see the Jyotirlinga.

We have booked a taxi which will take us to Basukinath Temple which is again a temple of Shiva and is situated in Dumka around 25 km from Deogarh.

From there we headed to Trikuta Parvata where there is a ropeway which will take you to the top of the hill. You will see temples as well as a lot of viewpoints for clicking photos. The ropeway costs around Rs 130 per head and you will get around 1 hour to come back. We just have to be aware of the monkeys, as they get naughty sometimes.

It took us the whole day and then we have done some shopping in the evening at the Deoghar.

he next day we have gone to Nandan Pahar, though basically, it is just for Kids and time pass as it does not have many activities. The boating was there but it usually starts from 1 PM. We did not spend much time there and returned back to the Baidyanath Temple. Then the whole day we have spent in the temple premises itself.
