A sailing voyage ACE Water SPA

I'd heard of ACE water spa in college but had never had the opportunity to discover more about or try it. When I returned to Manila, the heat hit me hard in all areas of my body. Yes, knowing that I am from the United States' east coast has made things difficult.

I remembered that my entire family tried it last year for my sister's birthday present. So when I learned that my sister and her friends were going to ACE, I asked if I might join them.

Of course, being a self-proclaimed traveler, I wanted to find out more about the destination before heading there. ACE Water Spa offers a hydrotherapy massage with four hours of access to its swimming pool, hydromassage stations, hot herbal pool, jacuzzi, and sauna for 600php per adult, which I believe is reasonable. Inclusion of this 600php are:

  • Four hour access to the pool, herbal hot tub, jacuzzi and sauna
  • Key for the locker (just don’t lose the key. Wrap it tightly around your wrist)
  • Shower cap
  • Free access to the shower and changing areas

The facility was huge, and the atmosphere was lavish because of its lobby area. We expected a large crowd on a Sunday, but we were shocked when we arrived. We went to the counter and checked in. They handed us our locker keys and caps on a tray. What amazed me the most was that NO PHONES are permitted outside of the locker area; even the staff politely requests that you refrain from snapping pictures and keep them inside the locker.

I almost forgot to explain that men's and women's lockers are separate, as are children's lockers, therefore they should be accompanied by someone.

The locker area is not flooded since workers constantly mop and place blowers on the floor. It's also an advantage that you're not smelly. Lol.

We went to the pool at 3 ½ feet since we could see the falls and water splashing from their equipment. Believe it or not, the pressure of the water from their equipment did not harm my muscles. When I stood under the shower, I felt relaxed. Each station contains information on how to properly utilize it and how long you may stay under water pressure. There were many massage stations, including moderate, mild, and kids. Even if you wish to stay longer, the option can use the hot herbal pools. (Most people on this station are elderly.)

I mostly enjoyed the half-size Olympic swimming pool. I had continuous laps because I missed competing. Then I returned for more hydro massages. We showered around 5 p.m. because we were starving already.

You can also dine at their own lounge bar. So we walked up to check. The ambiance is quite relaxing too, especially after a nice bath and massage. The venue is a typical lounge bar, yet early dinner hour pulled us. We were given a 2,500php table consumable to food and beverages. We ordered two pizzas (four cheese and traditional Hawaiian), calamari, onion rings, and twisted fries. Their house blend iced tea and mango shake were superb.

I completely appreciated the 360-degree view from the top of the bar. The skylines of three cities were the highlights. Overall, I'd go again and recommend it to everyone.
