Perhaps the 19th of September is the most colorful and lively day in the city of Oviedo as the America's Day is celebrated within the festivities of San Mateo in honor of the immigrants who have come from America to Asturias.
In the central avenue of the city, around 17h of September 19 every year, the streets are decorated with flags of all the countries of America.
For more than an hour and a half several floats made by each immigrant association of the city (Venezuelans, Colombians, Peruvians, Mexicans, etc) parade through the streets.
Additionally, other floats from other associations in the city, such as associations for elderly care, also parade interspersed among the floats of the immigrant community.
Other great attractions apart from the floats are the dances of those accompanying the floats. Where the dancers dressed in typical costumes of their country delight the citizens.
Being in Asturias, could not miss in the parade the bagpipe bands. Since the bagpipe is the traditional instrument of the region.
And because several organizing associations are in turn members of the associations of classic vehicles for car lovers like me is a delight to see many jewels of motoring.
But the one that impacted me the most was this Mercedes-Benz Excalibur SS from the middle of the last century. Quite a jewel as a finale to the parade.

With the end of the parade, it was time to enjoy the city of Oviedo, later with very good food and drink in my favoroute restaurant with my friend Giuseppe.
Greetings.
