I hope this weekend was productive and happy, I feel motivated, with many things to tell you and above all happy.
Fran and I had our anniversary on March 26, so I asked my job for free all weekend and we took advantage of so much time freedom to make our first trip since we arrived in Uruguay almost a year and a half ago.
The selected destination was Piriapolis and we made the trip together two of our good friends here in Uruguay who happen to celebrate their anniversary on March 30th.
¿Que tal mis queridísimos amigos?, espero que este fin de semana fuera productivo y feliz, yo me siento motivada, con muchas cosas que contarles y sobre todo feliz.
Fran y yo cumplimos aniversario el 26 de Marzo, así que yo pedí en mi trabajo libre todo este fin de semana y aprovechamos tanta libertad de tiempo para hacer nuestro primer viaje des que llegamos a Uruguay hace casi año y medio.
El destino seleccionado fue Piriapolis y realizamos el viaje juntos dos de nuestros buenos amigos aquí en Uruguay que casualmente celebran su aniversario el 30 de marzo.
Rambla y playa de los argentinos.
This important watering place its name in honor of its founder Francisco Piria, who inaugurated the place in 1890, Piriapolis also houses the third highest hill in all of Uruguay, the beach and the promenade that surrounds the entire coast, it has the name in honor to its most recurrent visitors in the summer season of great tourist movement, in itself its neighboring brothers the Argentines.
Despite the fact that the Argentinean beach is located within the Rio de la Plata, a great difference is perceived in terms of the water of the beach compared to the beaches of Montevideo.
Este importante Balneario lleva su nombre en honor a su fundador Francisco Piria, quien inauguro el lugar para el año 1890, Piriapolis también alberga el tercer cerro mas alto de todo Uruguay, la playa y la rambla que rodea toda la costa, tiene el nombre en honor a sus visitantes mas recurrentes en la época de verano de gran movimiento turístico, en si sus hermanos vecinos los argentinos.
A pesar que en ciencia cierta la playa de los argentinos se encuentra dentro del rio de la plata, se percibe una gran diferencia en cuanto a el agua de la playa en comparación a las playas de Montevideo.
The great change of waters just 80 kilometers approximately between Montevideo and Piriapolis is due to the presence of oceanic waters, coming from its mouth in Punta del Este.

El gran cambio de aguas a tan solo 80 kilómetros aproximados entre Montevideo y Piriapolis se debe a la presencia de aguas oceánicas, provenientes de su desembocadura en Punta del este.
El hecho de ser un balneario también denota un perfil mas turístico en la playa en si, y aunque no encontramos los típicos alquileres de sombrillas y sillas que vemos en Venezuela podemos apreciar algunos kioskos o bares playeros donde podrías comprar tragos o incluso maíz.
Hotel Lujan
The Lujan hotel is located on Gregorio Sanabria street just one block from the beach, its excellent location makes this three-star hotel an excellent opportunity for fast travelers like us.
We booked our accommodation for one night in two double rooms, one for my friends and the other for us, the whole process is done by Booking and the night had an approximate value of 50 dollars, or 2200 uruguayan pesos.
The rooms are small but have cable tv, air conditioning, executive fridge and a comfortable bed to sleep in.
Among other services specified by the place we find an outdoor swimming pool, a heated jacuzzi and breakfast included.

El hotel Lujan se encuentra ubicado en la calle Gregorio Sanabria a tan solo una cuadra de la playa, su excelente ubicacion convierte a este hotel de tres estrellas una excelente oportunidad para los viajeros rapidos como nosotros.
Reservamos nuestro alojamiento de una noche en dos habitaciones matrimoniales, una para mis amigos y otra para nosotros, todo el proceso lo realizamos por Booking y la noche tuvo un valor aproximado de 50 dolares o 2200 pesos uruguayos.
Las habitaciones son pequeñas pero tienen tv por cable, aire acondicionado, nevera ejecutiva y una cama cómoda donde dormir.
Entre otros servicios que especifica el lugar encontramos piscina exterior, un jacuzzi climatizado y desayuno incluido.
In the room the hot water in the bathroom is practically infinite, after being so cold in the pool I bathed for a long time and it was fabulous.
Speaking from my experience, the place is very clean but there is no denying the deterioration of the hotel compared to the photos shown on the portal where we made the reservation.
Also due to covid issues, the use of the heated jacuzzi is limited to one hour per room, however within minutes of entering the water, the sensation of warm weather is lost, although it could be due to the fact that autumn and the middle are beginning. environment is colder.

En la habitación el agua caliente en el baño es prácticamente infinita, luego de pasar tanto frio en la piscina me bañe por mucho rato y fue fabuloso.
Hablando desde mi experiencia el lugar es muy limpio pero no hay que negar el deterioro del hotel en comparación a las fotos que se muestran en el portal por donde hicimos la reserva.
También por temas de covid el uso del jacuzzi climatizado se ve limitado a una hora por habitación, sin embargo a los minutos de haber entrado se pierde la sensación de clima cálido en el agua, aunque podría deberse a que esta comenzando el otoño y el medio ambiente es mas frio.
As a last negative point to try, although the breakfast looks very rich, never get used to having such sweet things for breakfast, so I ended up buying a breakfast elsewhere, everything that includes the hotel's continental breakfast is very sweet, not if it's a question of the country or customs of the area.
As a last positive point, the human attention is excellent, the three people I met at the reception at different times were very kind in all our doubts and even extended our time in the jacuzzi due to a low amount of hourly reservation, even after we checked out. They stored our bags while we walked.
Como ultimo punto negativo a tratar aunque el desayuno se ve muy rico, nunca acostumbre a desayunar cosas tan dulces, por lo cual termine comprando un desayuno en otro lugar, todo lo que incluye el desayuno continental del hotel es muy dulce, no si es cuestión del pais o costumbres de la zona.
Como ultimo punto positivo la atención humana es excelente, las tres personas que conocí en recepción en los diferentes horarios fueron muy amables en todas nuestra dudas e incluso nos extendieron el tiempo en el jacuzzi por baja cantidad de reserva horaria, incluso luego del check out nos guardaron las maletas mientras paseábamos.
Plaza Artigas de Piriapolis
La plaza artigas la visite brevemente durante la caminata del terminal de Piriapolis al hotel, sin embargo me pareció un bonito lugar para mostrar aunque no tuve tiempo de averiguar en placas y con personas locales su historia.
La plaza posee en el medio una estatua de Artigas y es dependencia de la intendencia, en el balneario de Piriapolis, esta plaza es un punto estratégico del comercio informal o como le llamar aquí artesanos de manta.
La plaza artigas la visite brevemente durante la caminata del terminal de Piriapolis al hotel, sin embargo me pareció un bonito lugar para mostrar aunque no tuve tiempo de averiguar en placas y con personas locales su historia.
La plaza posee en el medio una estatua de Artigas y es dependencia de la intendencia, en el balneario de Piriapolis, esta plaza es un punto estratégico del comercio informal o como le llamar aquí artesanos de manta.

Restaurant Terranova
To end the day we visit the Terranova Restaurant that is half a block from the hotel and in front of the Rambla de los Argentinos, that is, with a privileged view of the sea.
The attention was very friendly and personalized for the 4 of us, who were looking for a meal that was delicious, sufficient and at a good price.
My friends decided on a barbecue accompanied by chorizo, blood sausage and French fries that, together with two small Fanta, cost approximately 990 pesos for their dinner for two, this would be equivalent to approximately 22 dollars.
Para culminar el día visitamos el Restaurante Terranova que queda a media cuadra del hotel y frente a la Rambla de los argentinos, es decir con una vista privilegiada al mar.
La atención fue muy amable y personalizada para nosotros 4, quienes buscábamos una comida que deliciosa, suficiente y a la vez a buen precio.
Mis amigos se decidieron por un asado acompañado de chorizo, morcilla y papas fritas que junto a dos Fanta pequeñas, tuvo un costo aproximado de 990 pesos su cena para dos personas, esto equivaldría a 22 dólares aproximadamente.
We decided on two Canadian goats on the bread, as you can see it looks like a hamburger but its peculiarity that they do not use common hamburger meat, the goats are stuffed with chicken or meat milanesas, they also bring egg, bacon, ham, tomato, lettuce, cheese, among other ingredients.
This came accompanied by French fries and the two dishes plus the two Fanta, were about 1,300 pesos, which is approximately 30 dollars.
Nosotros nos decidimos por dos chivitos canadienses al pan, como podrán ver parece una hamburguesa pero su particularidad que no usan carne de hamburguesas común, los chivitos vienen rellenos de milanesas de pollo o carne, además traen huevo, tocineta, jamón, tomate, lechuga, queso, entre otros ingredientes.
Este venia acompañado de papas fritas y los dos platos mas las dos Fanta, fueron como 1300 pesos, lo que equivale aproximadamente a 30 dólares.
