Bangkok city is a very large and vibrant city and no matter how times i have visited this city i never get bored there is so much to do and see in this beautiful and what makes it simply and convenient is the set of the public transport no matter whether it is by bus , taxi , motorbike , taxiboat , skytrain or underground train it gets you there safe and cheap. Today i took the Skytrain to the area i wanted to go as i find this form of transport the most convenient there is no traffic chaos to worry about and it just gets you to your destination within the city much quicker.
While waiting at the Skytrain station i noticed this advertising of wearing the mask for covid-19 i thought it was rather cute and very catchy getting the message across.
Once at my destination it was a short walk from the Skytrain station to Lumpini bridge walkway my agenda for the day was going to be walking along this bridge walkway where no cars or motorbikes are allowed on this bridge walkway so you have it all to yourself and you might see the occasional bike cyclist so it's a pretty peaceful walk.
This bridge walkway stretches for about 5 km between and across the heart of Bangkok city and leads you out to Lumpini park and along the bridge walkway you also get to see some pretty nice city views and on one side of the bridge you will also get see the lower class living of the Thai people from above looking at the old rustic corrugated iron roofs stretching out for miles.
Once your at the end of this bridge walkway you walk down the stairs on your left hand side and about 100 meters down along this road you will see the entrance to Lumpini Park.
Lumpini Park is one of the biggest green area parks in Bangkok city it covers a area of 360 rai ( 142 acres ) and is in the heart of Bangkok city the office works can always put into the park for there lunch break or a quick jog.
The park is used by many you will get the morning joggers and the evening joggers the bike cyclist and the aerobic classes going on in the morning and evening. This park offers many beautiful public space with beautiful surroundings of trees and playgrounds.
This park also has a huge man made lake where if you feel like doing a bit of peddling you can hire a small peddling boat and enjoy the city scenery from the middle of the lake.
Walking along on the grass i noticed this huge snail shell it was huge never seen a snail shell that big before the snail inside would have made a great meal he was the size of a small steak..lol 😂
I also noticed a lot of beautiful cats in this park and they didn't look like stray cats it was if they had come out of the apartments in the near by area to come and catch a bit of fresh air and sunshine and they all were pretty healthy looking.
It was getting into the afternoon and been monsoon season over here in Bangkok after a mostly sunny day the weather changes to afternoon showers so i had to make my way back to the Skytrain and get myself home before the heavens opened up.
Walking back to the Skytrain i saw this beautiful nature wall built around the Dusit Hotel very different and beautifully done never seen anything like this before thousands of plants growing out of this huge wall very impressing to see.
I made it on the Skytrain and back home missing the monsoon storm it had move away from my home area and the afternoon chaotic traffic was at a stand still at this huge intersection near my place it always amazes me how all these motorbikes always make it to the front of the traffic lights waiting for the big take off so amazing to see so many motorbikes in one spot like a hill of ants.
