Read about this place and decided that needed a trip there. This is a huge market place and you can find almost any kind of food or fruits there. It has the biggest variety of fresh produce like seafood, poultry, fruits, spices, meat, provisions....anything that should be at the wet market but in this part of today's tour of this wet market i will be taking you through the fruit and veggie section as the market is split into four different section it would just be impossible to fit it all in one post so here we go let's check out the different types of fruits and veggies you can find here in Thailand.
Klong Toey is a very fresh market, offering low prices on farm produce seafood , raw meat and a few other items you don't get many tourist visiting this market but the expats that live here all known about this wet market because it's so cheap and you can get everything you need here all in one place.
If you want to shop like a local well this is the market to visit in Bangkok all the restaurant owners , outside fruit and veggie vendors all come here to by wholesale. In fact most of your food served during your stay in Bangkok will most probably have been purchased from this wet market.
The wet markets can be very chaotic with a maze of stalls spread over 3 huge blocks of Bangkok concrete jungle and with vendors selling food and fresh cut up fruits lined up in the middle of the pathways you really need to have eyes in the back of your head as porters and motor cyclists weave their way through the crowded lanes but it's all fun and exciting to see how the locals work there day through.
It is eye opening to see how well synchronized it all function been so packed and chaotic and vendors shouting out at each other all in fun makes it seem like a big community party going on with the laughter going on among their selves it makes it a fun place to be with everyone happy and smiling.
Even this Parrot was having a good day chewing on his corn 😊
Even the Pancake lady was sitting high and happy like a happy Buddha up there on her perch making pancakes.
I got to tell you i experienced a lot of unseen and unfamiliar foods in this wet market the fruits i knew more of but the amount of different herbs i was seeing made me think why the food of Thailand taste so good when using all these lovely fresh herbs.
The fruits were just so fresh looking all mouth watering these little apples i bought some they were so sweet and crunchy like little gale apples but our ones are bigger but home.
If you want the real deal with markets in Bangkok, this one is definitely a must see you really feel for the buzz of the market and you know your in a Asia country when you see this wet market and after spending a couple hours or so walking around this wet market there will be a Tuk-Tuk out front to take all your shopping home and your poor sore wet feet 😎
