In the small town of Nam Sum, within the Mueang Uthai Thani District in Uthai Thani Province, there's this ancient place called Tha Sung Temple. It's been standing since way back in 1863, making it a seriously old temple. I remember visiting Wat Tha Sung about 20 years ago; back then, it felt like stepping into a different time altogether. And guess what? I went back recently, and let me tell you, things have changed a lot.
Now, Tha Sung Temple has transformed into this huge complex. It's not just a temple anymore; it's a whole experience. Every single day, a bunch of people make the trip there to show their respect and do some good deeds. It's become this bustling center of spirituality.
Tha Sung Temple boasts an expansive area, providing a unique experience for those seeking to make merit or explore its grounds. Visitors have the option to drive around the temple, adding a touch of convenience to their spiritual journey. During my recent visit, the initial destination that drew me in for paying respects and seeking blessings was the final resting place of Luang Phor Ruesi Lingdam. Encased in a glass coffin, the revered monk passed away on a Friday, October 30, 1992. Remarkably, even after all these years, both disciples and the general public continue to flock to the temple, eager to worship and seek blessings for good fortune.
It's a testament to the enduring impact of Luang Phor Ruesi Lingdam that people from various walks of life maintain this tradition. The glass coffin serves as a poignant focal point, a place where the past and the present converge as individuals join in prayer, carrying on the legacy of seeking blessings from this revered figure. The practice persists, and each day, the temple welcomes those who come with hopes and aspirations, forging a connection between generations and fostering a sense of community rooted in faith and reverence.

Having paid my respects to Father Ruesi Lingdam and the awe-inspiring Buddha Chinnarat, my journey within the spiritual haven of Tha Sung Temple led me to a remarkable destination — The Golden Castle. Positioned approximately 200 meters from the Wihan Kaew, this enchanting structure immediately caught my attention.
As the name suggests, The Golden Castle lives up to its regal title, adorned with resplendent gold embellishments that radiate a majestic aura. The castle itself boasts an impressive three floors, each layer adding to the allure of this architectural gem. What truly captures the eye, however, are the 37 exquisitely crafted peaks that crown the castle, forming a breathtaking silhouette against the sky.
The intricate details of the golden embellishments, coupled with the sheer elegance of the structure, create an enchanting spectacle. Every corner and curve is meticulously adorned, reflecting the skilled craftsmanship that went into bringing The Golden Castle to life. It stands as a testament to the dedication and artistic finesse of those who designed and built this majestic edifice within the temple grounds.
