Jageshwar Dham is also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, there is a lot to be found in Skanda Purana, Shiva Purana and Linga Purana. It is believed that the Saptarishis did severe penance here.

The worship of Lord Shiva in the form of Linga started from Jageshwar Dham itself. Here Lord Shiva is also worshiped in his childhood form.
