There are gates that transport you to another world, as is the case of this park, a large park by the Mediterranean Sea.
It is a very large green area divided into two large sectors and one of the largest parks in the city. It is an important lung for the city and is visited by many families and where events and markets are held on certain days of the week.
From this area you can see the sea and all you have to do is cross an avenue and you are on the beach.
This part of Parque Huelin is magical, all the way through.
Entering through one of the gates from Calle Orfila, I went to the left, and the first thing I came across was a large path with lots of trees and plenty of shade.
There I distinguished two areas that were very noticeable, in addition to the amount of vegetation.
One of them is an exercise area with lots of exercise equipment. There is a lot of sun there, but everything is surrounded by trees that offer shade for resting, and when the sun goes down it is a perfect time to exercise in the middle of nature.
Following several of the paths that there are in the place covered with vegetation, a lot of green, palm trees, trees of different types and a lot of space to rest, relax and for example to make pic nics, I see the other sector dedicated to a canine park.
A huge fenced space for dogs to play and run without necessarily being in the park where people walk.
It is a very large place with benches where their owners can sit and there is shade as well.
I like to walk along all the paths so I don't miss any detail and there was a pure air mixed with the trees and the air I could see from the sea. It was perfect.
The park is open until 11pm in the winter and until midnight in the summer and has street lights all along the way, ideal for a night walk in the middle of summer.
The walks in the park are magical, whether you walk along the established paths or through the trees, everything has its charm.
The trails lead to an even better place, once the huge dog park ends and the trails are full of greenery. This place is a large artificial lake with an island inside.
The lake is really big and there is a path around it to enjoy the view of the lake from different angles.
The reflections stop like paintings on a mirror and around the lake there is more vegetation.
I walked the whole length of the lake, skirting it and admiring it.
On this path I came across many birds, especially ducks of different colours.
Not only that, but there were mother ducks with their little ducklings swimming in the lake. To see that was pure tenderness. The ducklings followed their mother and swam all the way.
Each time the views became more and more beautiful, paradisiacal.
The different angles of the park made each shot different and equally beautiful.
But as always all around me there were hills full of varied vegetation and plenty of cool shade.
I noticed that the plants, the lake and the well-mowed lawns were extremely well maintained.
People stroll around, rest on the benches, have picnics and admire the place.
I also met pigeons, which could not be missing.
And someone was feeding the ducks so I was able to stop and take close-up pictures of them.
Then I climbed up to a very bright green colita to admire the place from the height and I found it marvellous. The colours of the trees, the shadows on the grass, the whole of nature.
The lighthouse of the place, which I think is there as a decorative feature, could be seen in the distance from this area.
And in this view I could see the palm trees on the San Andrés beach in the distance.
Turning around I came across these adorable little parrots or parakeets.
I followed a path which I found so beautiful, it was lonely and I liked that.
The path led me to a gigantic rose garden, where there were mainly red rose bushes, but there were also white ones.
It was divided into four huge rectangles and paths in between, with benches to sit on.
All the rose bushes were in bloom and offered a beautiful sight to behold.
A place worth visiting alone, as a couple or as a family. In any form it is beautiful.
You can breathe peace, fresh air and you can enjoy the birds, the water and all of nature.
Thank you for joining me on this tour, best regards to all of you and see you next time.
