Feliz y bendecido Viernes gente bonita, espero se encuentren todos muy bien! El pasado miércoles nuestro profesor de Proyecto nos regaló la oportunidad de tener un recorrido por la Biblioteca Nacional, ubicada en el Centro de Caracas, específicamente por el Panteón.
Esto con el fin de pasar un día diferente y relacionar esto con los temas que estamos desarrollando en clase que es la Información, Investigación y Búsqueda de las mismas. Además que nuestro profesor trabaja allí en la Biblioteca también. En lo particular yo nunca antes había ido, así que aproveché de tomar fotos y compartirles la experiencia.
Happy and blessed Friday beautiful people, I hope you are all well! Last Wednesday our Project teacher gave us the opportunity to have a tour of the National Library, located in downtown Caracas, specifically the Pantheon.This in order to spend a different day and relate this to the topics we are developing in class which is the Information, Research and Search for them. Besides that our teacher works there in the Library as well. In particular I had never been there before, so I took the opportunity to take pictures and share the experience with you.
En primera instancia la biblioteca es bastante grande tiene espacios verdes en su entrada y salida, hay una plaza bien bonita cerca como les dije como les mencioné del Panteón Nacional que también es bastante bonita. La biblioteca está bien cuidada así que por allí 20 puntos. Al entrar todo de verdad es muy bonito dejamos los bolsos en un área específica, ya que no se puede entrar con ellos, nos dieron una breve charla de bienvenida y comenzamos el recorrido.
In the first instance the library is quite large, it has green spaces at the entrance and exit, there is a very nice square nearby as I told you as I mentioned the National Pantheon which is also quite nice. La primer área que nos mostraron es el Catálogo Automatizado, allí hay un espacio en el que se encuentran varias computadoras, en dónde a través de un sistema se coloca por medio de palabras claves o títulos lo que queremos investigar o leer y la página te arroja los documentos o libros que hayan en la biblioteca referente a ese tema que se está buscando. Para posteriormente mandarlos a solicitar.
The first area we were shown is the Automated Catalog, where there is a space where there are several computers, where through a system you can enter by keywords or titles what you want to research or read and the page will show you the documents or books in the library related to the topic you are looking for. Luego nos llevaron al área de la Hemeroteca, en dónde se encuentran archivos verticales y periódicos desde los publicados. Allí se encuentra el primer periódico que fue escrito en el año 1818 por el libertador Simón Bolívar, como ven en la foto es un libro bastante grande y grueso, además de revistas de aquellas épocas.
También nos mostraron la forma antigua en la que se solicitaba los libros, a través de fichas ya que a raíz del avance de la tecnología ya todo es automatizado, pero antes de esto se hacía con esto, con las fichas y cuentan con unas máquinas que las permiten leer el archivo, parecidas a unas computadoras. Esto fue bastante interesante, particularmente.
Then we were taken to the area of the Newspaper Library, where you can find vertical archives and newspapers from the published ones. There you can find the first newspaper that was written in 1818 by the liberator Simón Bolívar, as you can see in the photo it is a very big and thick book, as well as magazines of those times.They also showed us the old way in which the books were requested, through cards, since with the advance of technology everything is now automated, but before this was done with this, with the cards, and they have machines that allow them to read the file, similar to computers. Allí mismo esta la Sala de Prensa Comunitaria y Alternativa donde tienen muestras de periódicos originales comunitarios. En el 2002 hubo un Golpe de Estado en Venezuela lo que ocasionó que no se revelara información real de lo que estaba sucediendo en el país y por ello las comunidad decidieron sacar sus propios periódicos para asi mantenerse actualizados y mostrar la realidad de lo que ocurria. Por ejemplo, en Caracas hay una zona que se llama "Petare" y me llamó mucho la atención ese nombre del periódico jajaj "El Petarazo"
There is also the Community and Alternative Press Room where they have samples of original community newspapers. In 2002 there was a coup d'état in Venezuela which meant that no real information was revealed about what was happening in the country and so the communities decided to publish their own newspapers in order to keep up to date and show the reality of what was happening. For example, in Caracas there is an area called "Petare" and I was very struck by the name of the newspaper hahahah "El Petarazo".
Posterior a todo ese recorrido, para finalizar pasamos a una sala que no recuerdo el nombre, pero están absolutamente todos los libros, hay colecciones y demás. Cuenta con una sala de lectura para personas con discapacidad, y tuvimos el privilegio de que nos dejaran pasar al área donde se encuentran miles de libros de todos los temas e incluso diferentes idiomas donde sólo entra personal autorizado. Acá no nos dejaron explorar mucho por ser área restringida al público, pero si nos dejaron visualizar parte y en lo personal me pareció increíble, todo muy bien ordenado!
Algo curioso e interesante, es que cuentan con el servicio de Braille. Esto es un texto en relieve que se manda imprimir allí mismo para que las personas con discapacidad visual puedan leer. Esto me pareció hermoso y positivo, de hecho a futuro tendremos como meta eso, promover la inclusión, facilidad de acceso y mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de estas personas con algún tipo de capacidad. Por cierto, estudio Fisioterapia, por eso el uniforme y menciono esto último jaja.
After all this tour, we went to a room that I do not remember the name, but there are absolutely all the books, there are collections and so on. It has a reading room for people with disabilities, and we had the privilege of being allowed to enter the area where there are thousands of books of all subjects and even different languages, where only authorized personnel can enter. Here they did not let us explore much because it is an area restricted to the public, but they did let us visualize part of it and I personally found it incredible, everything very well organized!Something curious and interesting is that they have a Braille service. This is a text in relief that is printed right there so that visually impaired people can read. I found this beautiful and positive, in fact in the future we will have this as a goal, to promote inclusion, ease of access and improve the quality of life of these people with some kind of ability. By the way, I study Physiotherapy, that's why the uniform and I mention this last thing haha.
Para finalizar paseamos por un espacio donde muestran colecciones y exhibiciones. Justo días antes había visitado la biblioteca el embajador del Perú y por ello había exhibición y muchos libros relacionados a ese país, nos tomamos algunas fotos y pues así termino nuestra agradable visita guiada por la Biblioteca Nacional🥰.
Finally we walked through a space where they show collections and exhibitions. Just days before the ambassador of Peru had visited the library and so there was an exhibition and many books related to that country, we took some pictures and so ended our nice guided tour of the National Library🥰.

Para mí fue un placer haberles compartido este recorrido, fue un día bastante agradable en el que pude compartir con mis compañeros y nuestro profesor, tuvimos un día diferente y por supuesto el chance de conocer un espacio bastante importante para el país y en dónde se guarda muchísimo conocimiento.
Por cierto, nuestro profe nos prometió una segunda visita porque lo que les mostré es solo parte de la Biblioteca, aun faltan cosas por conocer, así que espero con ansias ese día para compartírselo nuevamente...
