**Guácharo Cave:** After such an exuberant stay, upon returning to our city, we had the opportunity to visit the Cueva del Guácharo, which was declared a National Park in 1975, in addition to its tourist value, it is the source of the most important water deposits in the northeastern states of the country. "Discovered by Alexander Von Humboldt, the cave is Caripe's main tourist attraction. This deep cave measures approximately 10,200 meters, populated by a rare species of nocturnal birds, the Guacharos, is reddish brown, striped in black and speckled in white, the only frugivorous bird that feeds at night and remains in the caves during the day, making their nests in the heights of the cavities. This cave is formed by limestone rocks dating back to the Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic era, about 130 million years ago, when a marine groundwater environment covered the northern part of western and eastern Venezuela. According to historians, the cave was used by the chaimas (indigenous people) 3000 years before our era.
