In this opportunity I participate in the Writing Contest: "If I had $ 1000", in which we must write about where we would travel and what places we would visit if we had $ 1000 to spend in that trip.

En esta oportunidad participo en el Concurso de escritura: “Si yo tuviera $ 1000", en el que debemos escribir sobre a dónde viajaríamos y qué lugares visitaríamos si tuviéramos $ 1000 para gastar en dicho viaje.
La idea de este genial concurso es soñar, ¡benditos sean los sueños! Hago mi participación, no sin antes dar gracias a la gentil comunidad de Hive que nos lee y, fundamentalmente, al equipo principal de @pinmapple por invitarnos a seguir los caminos del deseo y de las quimeras.

For many years now, Mexico has been on my list of countries to visit; it is one of those places I would like to visit before leaving the earthly plane. Since I have to select a specific place, I'll stick with Puebla, since I'm a lover of baroque architecture because of the exuberance of the lines, the shapes, the colors, the ornaments. And this place is full of buildings of that style that stand out for their impressive beauty.
Desde hace muchos años, México está en mi lista de países por conocer; es uno de esos lugares que quisiera visitar antes de partir del plano terrenal. Como debo seleccionar un lugar específico, me quedo con Puebla, pues soy una enamorada de la arquitectura barroca por la exuberancia de las líneas, de las formas, de los colores, de los ornamentos. Y este lugar está lleno de edificaciones de ese estilo que destacan por su impresionante belleza.

Puebla is a wide valley, climatically temperate, has an altitude of approximately 2160 meters above sea level and is located in the central highlands of Mexico, with the capital in its largest city, Puebla de Zaragoza. It is extremely attractive for international tourism, since it stands out for its colonial architecture, its portals, its mountains, its gastronomy and its crafts, among other aspects.
Puebla es un amplio valle, climáticamente templado, tiene una altitud aproximada de 2160 metros sobre el nivel del mar y está ubicado en el altiplano central de México, con capital en su ciudad más grande, Puebla de Zaragoza. Another aspect that I love about Puebla is the story related to the Popocatepetl (active, 5500 meters above sea level) and Iztaccihuatl (5220 meters above sea level) volcanoes, since among many versions the following is told:
In Mexica mythology, Iztaccihuatl was a princess who fell in love with Popocatepetl, one of her father's warriors. The princess' father sent the warrior to battle in Oaxaca, promising to give him his daughter if he returned victorious and with his enemy's head on the spear. But by mistake a false message arrived to that town, giving the terrible news of Popocatepetl's death. The princess was devastated and fell in an intense depression, and this way she died of a broken heart. Some time later, the warrior returned with the head of his rival bleeding from his spear, so he received a feast for his victory. However, their love was over, as the princess had died. The warrior, with a broken heart, took the body of his beloved to a mountain and the gods turned it into an inactive volcano. Later, Popocatepetl took a torch and promised that nothing would put out the fire of the torch with which he watched over the body of his beloved. Because of this, the gods gave him eternity by turning him into a volcano. See Wikipedia
Otro aspecto que me encanta de Puebla es la historia relacionada con los volcanes Popocatépetl (activo, de 5500 msnm) y el Iztaccíhuatl (de 5220 msnm), ya que entre muchas versiones se cuenta lo siguiente:
En la mitología mexica, Iztaccíhuatl fue una princesa que se enamoró de Popocatépetl, uno de los guerreros de su padre. El padre de la princesa envió al guerrero a una batalla a Oaxaca, prometiéndole entregarle a su hija si regresaba victorioso y con la cabeza de su enemigo en la lanza. Pero por error llegó un falso mensaje a aquel pueblo, dando la terrible noticia del fallecimiento de Popocatépetl. La princesa quedó devastada y cayó en una intensa depresión dándole así la muerte por un corazón roto. Tiempo después el guerrero regresó con la cabeza de su rival sangrando en su lanza, por lo que recibió un festín por su victoria. Sin embargo, su amor se dio por acabado, ya que la princesa había muerto. El guerrero, con el corazón roto, llevó el cuerpo de su amada a un monte y los dioses la convirtieron en volcán inactivo. Después, Popocatépetl tomó una antorcha y prometió que nada apagaría el fuego de la antorcha con la que vela el cuerpo de su amada. It would fill me with joy to walk through its streets and start a conversation with a local who would tell me his version of the legend that captures all those who gaze upon these snowy volcanic peaks and are imbued with the ancestral spirit of Puebla.
Me llenaría de alegría pasear por sus calles y ponerme a conversar con algún lugareño que me cuente su versión de la leyenda que atrapa a todos los que posan su mirada sobre estas nevadas cumbres volcánicas y se compenetran con el espíritu ancestral de Puebla.

As far as the budget is concerned, the $1000 would basically cover the cost of airfare from Venezuela to Mexico. Fortunately I have friends and family who would gladly welcome me in Mexico City, and in Puebla itself, and would save me a good part of the expense for room and board. The rest will be seen in the same way. Of course, I would not fail to taste in situ the delicious "mole poblano" which is the most famous of all moles in the country and then sing, freely, despite not having a good voice, the song "Qué chula es Puebla".
En cuanto al presupuesto, los $1000 me servirían fundamentalmente para cubrir los gastos de pasajes aéreos desde Venezuela hasta México. Afortunadamente tengo amigos y familiares que gustosamente me acogerían en Ciudad de México, y en la misma Puebla, y me ahorraría una buena parte del gasto por alojamiento y comida. Lo demás, se verá en el mismo camino. Por supuesto, no dejaría de probar in situ el delicioso "mole poblano" que es el más famoso de todos los moles del país y luego cantaría, con libertad, a pesar de no tener buena voz, la canción "Qué chula es Puebla".
