GUACUCO BEACH, Margarita, Venezuela // Playa Guacuco, Margarita, Venezuela [ENG-ESP]
One of the best beaches I have visited on Margarita Island. This post made me think about the satisfaction you get when you make good decisions. In these months of confinement, where there are several things you can't do, I see images as good as these and I feel happy for having taken advantage of moments like these, and save them in my memory and my computer. It does not evoke sadness and melancholy for what you cannot do, but joy and happiness for what you have done. All images are my property.
Unas de las mejores playas que he visitado en la isla de Margarita. Éste post me hizo pensar en la satisfacción que se tiene cuando tomas buenas decisiones. En éstos meses de confinamiento, donde hay varias cosas que no puedes hacer, veo imagenes tan buenas como éstas y me siento feliz por haber aprovechado momentos como éstos, y guardarlos en mi memoria y mi computadora. No evoca la tristeza ni melancolía por lo que no puedes hacer, sino la alegría y felicidad por lo que has hecho. Todas las imagenes son de mi propiedad.
A few kilometers from Pampatar we find this beach. It seems a bit inhospitable, but that seems to give it another point in favor, since you can enjoy tranquility, peace and quiet. It is easily accessible. Vehicles can be parked very close to the shore, being in sight of the owners. It has a lot of palm trees, and I consider this a very good advantage. The shade is appreciated at the moment of sharing food, chatting, playing or relaxing. Reddish sand. Fun waves. I call it that because it's not so strong that you are always on the lookout to make sure you don't get tossed around, but it's strong enough to keep you active and having fun while in the water. By the way, it was free of seaweed and rocks. Excellent. The weather was ideal. Clear blue sky, cutting the blue of the sea on the horizon.
A pocos kilometros de Pampatar encontramos esta playa. Perece un poco inhóspita, pero eso parece darle otro punto a favor, ya que puedes disfrutar de tranquilidad, sosiego y calma. Es de fácil acceso. Los vehículos pueden estacionarse muy cerca de la orilla, quedando a la vista de los dueños. Tiene bastante palmeras, y considero que esto es una muy buena ventaja. La sombra se agradece al momento de compartir los alimentos, conversar, jugar o relajarse. Arena rojiza. Oleaje divertido. Lo llamo así porque no es tan fuerte como para estar siempre alerta de que no te arroye, sino que es lo suficientemente fuerte como para mantenerte activo y divertirte mientras se está en el agua. Por cierto, estaba libre de algas y piedras. Excelente. El clima fue ideal. Un cielo azul despejado, que corta el azul del mar en el horizonte.
Along its more than a kilometer and a half of beach we can find restaurants, showers, chairs and awnings for rent, and informal vendors. Ideal for hiking, enjoying the sea breeze on your cheeks and the sea breeze. And we already said it's not crowded - great! Plus, you can check out the local artisans, who with local materials make amazing creations. One of our companions was able to purchase some of these original souvenirs.
A lo largo de sus más de un kilometro y medio de playa podemos encontrar restaurantes, duchas, sillas y toldos para alquiler, y vendedores informales. Ideal para hacer caminatas, disfrutar de la brisa marina en tus mejillas y la brisa del mar. Y ya dijimos que no es concurrida. ¡Magnífico! Además, se puede echar un vistazo a los artesanos locales, quienes con materiales de la zona hacen asombrosas creaciones. Uno de nuestros acompañantes pudo adquirir algunos de estos recuerdos tan originales.

By the way, do you know why this beach is called Guacuco? That is the name of a mollusk that can be found in large quantities just by digging in the wet sand of the beach. Of course, there must be many more in the water! All in all, the sea gave us some excellent samples of the life and objects that can be found in it. Por cierto, ¿saben por qué ésta playa lleva por nombre Guacuco? Así se llama un molusco que pueden hallarse en grandes cantidades con solo escarbar en la arena mojada de la playa. Por supuesto, ¡dentro del agua deben haber muchos más! Con todo, el mar nos dio unas excelentes muestras de la vida y objetos que pueden hallarse en él. But what impressed us most was that a mollusk called "Gran Botuto" was brought to shore. We were impressed to see it, to hold it, and also to know what it contained.
Pero lo que más nos impresionó fue que un molusco llamado "Gran Botuto" fue llevado a la orilla. Nos impresionó verlo, sujetarlo, y también saber lo que contenía.
When we showed it to the locals, they told us that there was a thief inside... a thief... How? Hey, you can't be careless, even if you live underwater... Oh, my goodness. Well, it's about a being that gets into the house and tries to take out its inhabitant by force. You can see it there, it is those two little yellow tentacles with black... And the lady was screaming: "AAAaaaayyyy! She has a thief!".
Al mostrarlo a los lugareños nos dijeron de que tenía dentro un ladrón... un ladrón... ¿Cómo? Oye, uno no puede descuidarse ni siguiera viviendo bajo del agua... Caramba. Bueno, se trata de un ser que se mete en la casa y trata de sacar a su habitante a la fuerza. Allí pueden verlo, son esos dos pequeños tentáculos amarillos con negro... Y la señora gritaba: "¡AAAaaayyyy! ¡Tiene un ladrón!".
What a bully, isn't he? Well, our day at the beach continued. Thanks to the characteristics of this beach you can practice beach racquetball, volleyball, surfing and other beach sports.
Que abusador, ¿no es cierto? Bueno, nuestro día de playa continuó. Gracias a las características de ésta playa se puede practicar raqueta de playa, voleibol, surf y otros deportes playeros.
