Batteries and sockets in the cave/tent living community in the rocky semi-desert (2024.09.01)

The current state of the electricity in the cave/tent living community in the rocky semi-desert on Tenerife (as of 2024.09.01).

The lights in the caves in the night are working from the left battery, and the right battery is used with the 12 Volt <> 230 Volt inverter (with solar panels) to have electricity at least in the daylight.

There are engineers and other professionals in the cave/tent living community. In the recent past, theoretically one of them used two other not working batteries to make one working.

As I currently know, he moved the acid from one battery to fill up another battery.

But of course they know this topic much better than me.

In addition to the 5 Volt USB charging ports, and to the 230 Volt sockets inside the storage cave...

...We have sockets outside too, under one of the community desks, which are water resistant.

The current 12 Volt <> 230 Volt inverter is still the same as before, so it can provide only 1000 Watts.

But it is enough to charge laptops, speakers, mobile phones. Even one of the low consuming refrigerators and the freezer can work occasionally in the daylight inside the storage cave.

On the upper right side is the refrigerator, and the lower right side is the freezer.

In addition to the lights inside the caves, there are lights and light switches outside too. These are also working from the left battery on the first photo in this post.

The electricity is still provided by only the solar panels...

...But we are thinking about buying and installing wind turbines too.

The wind is almost always available. Even when the sun is not. For example when it is covered by the clouds (this rarely happens in this place, the weather is mostly sunny), or in the evening.

Of course we are an open community.

We are open to advices and to suggestions too.

If anyone, who is competent in this topic even actually read this post anyway.

Either way, I will document every upgrade/improvement in this system.

At least in the next few months, while I am in this place.

The idea of moving is also an option.
There are (maybe even better) alternatives.

Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
