La Palma volcano may create a world mega tsunami

Three days after the volcano eruption started in La Palma, in the Canary Islands, Spain, a theory developed back in 2001 is hitting the news again explaining how a potential megatsunami could hit Europe, Africa, and America coasts if part of the island slides into the ocean.

Scientists Steven Ward and Simon Day have been studying the area for decades and their hypothesis is that a mega-tsunami could be produced if part of the island land sinks into the ocean. Other scientists do not think that is going to happen but their theory is based on something which happened years ago.
