Hello buddies, today you are going to be told about very informative novel "Farewell to Arms," third novel written by Ernest Hemingway that was published in 1929. Hope you will enjoy this one.

It was the scenario of world war 1 (1918) when the American lieutenant badly wounded then Henry Frederick brought to a hospital in Milan where he met up English nurse Catherine Barkley. Actually he was under consideration of her cure, when a few days passed their relationship developed into love story. In fact Catherine soon became pregnant by Henry yet she refuses to marry him.

When the hospital superintendent, Miss Van Campen, learnt that Henry hid alcohol in his hospital room, he was sent back to the front.

Henry searched for Catherine, he soon discovered that she was has been sent to Stresa, some 95 miles away. Henry departed for Stresa by train. Once there, he reunited with Catherine, and they escaped from Italy by crossing the border into neutral Switzerland.

The couple spent several happy months in wooden house near Montreux, late one night Catherine felt pain actually pain was for giving birth to baby unfortunately Catherine was died while giving birth, sadly their son was stillborn. Henry tried to ask good-bye but could not, he returned to hotel alone in the rain.
