Familiar sounds, rise up to greet us
stripped bare, from the weights,
that once coiled their way within,
we breathe,
air, filling our lungs,
a million cells awaken,
the depth of our knowing
expands
beyond all comprehension.

we feed our souls
with long lost goals
woven on tapestries
once hung from ancient walls.
wisdom
screaming from our pores
as the gentle sounds
rise to a roar,

broken free, from the circular busyness of our minds,
to be present,
opening up,
to release, the waves of indignation.

Our war paint, upon our faces
remnants of distant places, held within the subtle changes,
that race up and engulf our fears.

Each drop,
each magic moment captured inside these walls,
freed upon the backs of our dreams,
we are real,
standing in our power, our ability to feel,
to lay down our shields and allow ourselves to heal.

Music inspires me so much, I can hear a certain piece and the words jut flow from me. Just like this track below. A friend of mine is a conscious hip hop artist and this is the producer he always uses on his tracks.

I have never met him, but he his music has inspired so many of my poems. This is one to listen to with your headphones on. I really feel this, I think you will understand what I mean when you hear it.

Who knows, one day I night get to meet him and share with him, all the poetry that his music has inspired me to write. I would love to know, if anyone else has written poetry inspired by a piece of music?
