Covidian Anthem

The following is a reply to @creatr's piece "Nuremberg 2021: Dead Before Their Time". It is a somewhat light hearted jab at people that support using force to enforce COVID regulations. What are your thoughts on the poem or the subject matter?

COVIDIAN ANTHEM

If I may have the honor
With a poem, I have replied
And in the name of fairness
I'll speak the other side

See when this whole thing started
We knew not what to do
We all hated the orange man
So we waited for his cue

He didn't seem to worry
So we knew we had to fear
That's what our leaders told us
And we were glad to hear

We weren't that over zealous
We just practice what we preach
And no matter what you tell us
It isn't overreach

And we MUST spread that message
To see the opposition quelled
A virtue that is signaled
Outweighs a virtue held

So a couple folks have died
And a few businesses have closed
I'd rather see a thousand more
Than for me to be exposed

See we know what's best for you
No need to think for yourself
We'll redistribute all the death
Just like with your wealth
