Fantasies and Reality

Fantasies and Reality

Source

Caught in the desires of yesterday,
Drowned in the fantasies of tomorrow,
Today wasted in nothingness,
Like a slippery eel,
It slides away,
Unseen!

Days blend into nights of oblivion,
While the mind on colorful fantasies rides,
Until the hunger of today,
Ejects the senses out of its dullness,
Reality strikes,
Mayday!

There is nothing to account for today,
Mere dreams,
Pretty thoughts,
With no real substance,
Making today of no essence!!

Lost! oh lost,
Is time,
Squandered,
On illusions,
Ghostly existence,
Hollow images,
Dissipating,
Into nothingness,
At a touch!

This is an original poem about fantasy, reality and time.
