Broken Pieces | 5 minutes freewrite with prompt 'Scoundrel'

If beauty with brains and endowment were a person then it would definitely be Jane. A successful career woman, with several investments around town, employees and all but her only lapses was with men. She was quite unfortunate when it got to love and she didn't even know what her crime was. She decided to give it a break while enjoying her single hood on several vacations. She was once again focused on her businesses until she met another scoundrel on one of her numerous vacations.
Peter was a handsome, well-behaved and an exposed young man but was more on a mission to destroy than to love. How would Jane had known what Peter was upto. He was also lovely, caring and supportive. He was always there for her. Jane felt she had found all the love she needed, her broken heart felt it had found solace and she was willing to keep this one and make it work. Her suspicion arose when Peter frequently would ask for money. Well he was a programmer although he wasn't earning so well but with time his demands from her increased most of which were unnecessary. He moved in with her as well and had a bad temper which always led to his hitting her. She believed he would change with time but this went on for more than 3 months in their 6 months relationship. Nonetheless she refused to lose hope or give up.. Her friends advised her against Peter but she was willing to bear, until one of her friends showed her proofs that Peter was trying to lay with her. She was broken and felt betrayed once again but what is a broken relationship compared with happiness. She confronted the liar and ended things with him, he kept begging and promising to change but she wasn't even interested in any more lies. Although she wept for days, she soon regained herself and moved on. She was grateful to her friends who were sincere to her and also stood by her.
Happiness is paramount and she chose her happiness.
