A Traitor

This is a contest by @wakeupkitty and @freewritehouse.

As my father sleeps soundly tonight
I weave my plans so sinister
For the tide of tears to surely flow

Tangled in my greed
For a kingdom's treasures
I dared not reveal the traitor in me

He never thought I would think
Of something so destructive
Of the only prince fighting against his King

Whispers from Mirasimi's magic
My birds of war ready to strike
No mercy! This is my chance for glory

I want to see the face I have loathed
To bury my sword
And feel father's heart dying so fast

I am Prince Absalom
King David's beautiful son
A traitor from the tender flesh of youth
