I am fascinated by wings, and having raised different types of birds, over the years, I've studied feathers fairly closely.
From these physical observations, I have been able to make the following spiritual realization that applies to the human condition:
To remain in fine, flying form,
our wings require careful,
constant grooming.
Wings are useful
not only for flying
but to keep our balance
on land, as well,
they are a reminder
of our angel self.
And, to extend the metaphor, as in the physical realm, so it is in the spiritual: it takes one moment of inattention to slip and fall.
