The level of low temperature that was experienced early this year was something else. There's nothing like it in living memory. This can be attested to by the height of snow that was deposited in the landscape. It was such that an entire village was covered with snow, up to a height of 10 metres, and covering the rooftops. The village was simply transformed into a white plateau, with nothing else in sight.

Human beings and other animals were evacuated to a safer area. Plants of all kinds stopped to grow because the low temperature would not support any metabolic activity, including growth. Life could be said to have stopped.

Let's consider a hotel building, owned by the village's top millionaire. He had to hire a workforce to dig into the snow mass to see how he could get access into his hotel. With great difficulty, the labourers dug to expose three doors. This was to enable the millionaire reach one of the rooms where he stockpiled some priceless valuables, including cash and gold.

Everyone's prayer is that such a calamity will not befall the community again because the losses are unquantifiable.
