ZapficMonday story contest - prompt : fireplace

Ben refused to share his candy, he hid it in the fireplace. Left to play with the other kids. The evening was chilly,his mom light the fire to keep warm. They all came inside to stay warm too.
He saw his candy burn, he was ashamed to say so.
