Interview with Myself about HIVE Experience

Hi Maylena, I am happy to have you here on HIVE. Can you share with us a bit of what HIVE means to you?

I will be methaphorical and tell you that

HIVE is, for me, a place where I can sit on a bench thinking of so many things and exploring so many possibilities while apples are falling and new ideas and emotions inspire me.

Funny thing is, as we're talking, I'm picturing Rene Magritte's 1964 painting "The Son of Man" in my head. When I stand up from that bench, I guess I would have a similar look.

I had thought you would first refer to Newton's apples, but this turned to Magritte...pretty interesting.

If I had to choose between Newton and Magritte, I would definitely choose Magritte. Newton is too physical while Magritte lets you hide under a lot of creativity. It's somehow, if you want, like our day-to-day reality and our virtual space in HIVE.

Given your thoughts on HIVE, I am sure that there are so many exciting things here, but what do you hate most about it?

Hate is a very big word for me. In fact, I don't remember ever feeling hate for a person. Maybe I hated some situations in my life until I realised I was somehow involved in what leaded to that situation.

That's why I have never downvoted anyone in HIVE. Some people have this downvote policy and might criticize me for that, but I haven't really felt that something irritated me so much that I had to downvote it. So, by doing otherwise, I wouldn't have been true to myself.

However, there was once a photo of a photographer that I really disliked in HIVE, but I respected the decision of that person to choose his own topics when taking photos and feel passionate about it. And life, unfortunately, also has its cruel parts... To be more specific, it was a photo of some sort of bull-human game competition, and the photographer would present the game in his post as an exciting one. As a human being, I have my own limits, and what makes me truly angry about life is especially the cruelty against animals. So, I have expressed that in a comment to his post.

Finally, do you want to share with us some things that might have skipped you between the lines?

Yes, I want to say that there are so many talented, interesting, and smart people in HIVE that amaze me daily with their knowledge, their art or their kindness. So, I wish I had a medal for all these people to thank them, and a more special one for those who are not that happy with themselves or dealing with difficult life situations, because they might need it the most.
