“Come on, we gotta go, Jimmy.”
Dave, a dude in a flashy red jacket and a cap, called out to Jimmy, a dude in a brown jacket and grey pants, who sat in this old, outdoor digital chair, wearing those fancy digital reality glasses. He was lost in the metaverse, probably battling dragons or something.

Dave had this puzzled look on his face, like he just saw a UFO or something. He scratched his head and muttered, "What in tarnation is Jimmy up to now?”

He couldn't tell. All Dave could tell at that point and from his old experiences with Jimmy and his metaverse games was that, at that point, Jimmy thought he was the king of the digital world.

And truly, Jimmy was oblivious to the real world; he kept on waving his arms around, like he was trying to slay some virtual beast. “AHH….Yes! Come on!” That was all he yelled.

Dave, knowing this wouldn't end until Jimmy won or lost the game, decided to watch Jimmy's bizarre performance. He crossed his arms, leaned back, and thought, "Well, this is better than any reality show on TV of this generation."

After what felt like forever, Jimmy finally took off his digital glasses and blinked like he just woke up from a coma. He looked at Dave and said, "Dude, you won't believe the adventure I just had! I was fighting off aliens in outer space!"

Dave just stared at him, his mouth hanging open like a fish out of water. "You mean you've been sitting there flailing around like a maniac while I've been sweating buckets in this heat trying to get what we came here for inside that mall? Mind you, we are already late, and Martha has been calling my phone."

“Martha? Oh shit! She's going to chop off my head,” Jimmy replied with a countenance that tells he was scared. “How long was I on the game?”

“Eternity”

“Come on, we gotta head back home immediately with that cake ingredient to my wife, Martha, before the guests for our child's birthday party start arriving.”

“Welcome back to reality,” Dave mockingly said as they walked down to the parking lot.

Jimmy shrugged, completely unapologetic. "Hey, don't blame me. Someone had to save the universe, right?"

Dave shook his head, still trying to wrap his mind around Jimmy's virtual escapades. "You're something else, man. Next time, give me a heads-up before you transport yourself to another dimension."

And with that, the two buddies laughed it off, each with their own version of reality—one in the digital world and the other just trying to make sense of it all.
